Turtle Wax Black Chrome

I've used Turtle Wax Black Chrome for years. I really love the product. My current bottle is really close to empty and, much to my dismay, I can't find the stuff anywhere. I've tried all of the local auto parts stores with no luck. Can't find it for sale online either. It's not even on Turtle Wax's site anymore (though, it does show up on their UK site).

Anyone know what's happened with this stuff? And, in lieu of finding a bottle somewhere, what does the group recommend as a replacement product?

What is the BEST dressing/treatment for exterior black vinyl and black rubber parts?

Thanks!!

Mark Booth- Welcome to Autopia!

I too used to use/like the Black Chrome but I haven't seen it for ages.

I've pretty much gotten away from the dressing approach on exterior trim (preferring an LSP-based approach), but I to like the Ultima stuff and, for a more old-school product, AutoGlym Bumper Care.

It seems to still be available in the UK, in case you love it enough to import it:

Turtle Wax

I've used PoorBoys Trim Restorer, Mothers Back to Black (repeated uses, not a quick fix) and Autoglym's Bumper Care. All seem to be pretty good, although none are dyed black.

Is this the dark silvery grey lotion looking stuff? I seem to remember using this back in the early 90s and it being the best thing I could find at the time for black exterior trim. Now I use Satin Prot on textured exterior trim.

That looks interesting Lonnie. I also saw "Grape Tire Dressing" on their site. I remember getting something at Sam's probably 15 years or so ago. One of their "professional detailing products" in 1 gallon jugs. Excellent tire dressing that smelled like grape.
