TSP For WaterSpots?

Anyone tried Trisodium Phosphate for water spots.I have a new Mustang that got rained on right before i left for a 2 week vacation. When i got back i see a lot of little water spots al over the car that won't come out with detail spray.I've been reading a lot here on this subject and am finding out how hard they are to remove.

Never seen TSP mentioned before,i've used it on my RV.I know it will etch glass over time, pretty powerful stuf.

DO NOT USE STRAIGHT TSP!

Even when included in some auto care products, a very, very low percentage is included.

It is very damaging to the resin system of the clearcoat.

Products are made that have tested and proven for what you need.

There is the Ford ABC system, the ValuGard ABC system, which is approved and in TSB and shop manuals for Ford, Chrysler, Nissan,Hyundai, Mazda etc, all tested and approved this system.

Most Ford/Lincoln dealers in larger cities carry the product or can order it for you.

You might try contacting ValuGard for a distributor close to you or Rob Regan out of Santa Barabra carries it.

Just a head's up.

If it was just rained on and sat for 2 weeks, I don't think you have any water etching hard enough to warrant a harsh cleaner to get it out. If a regular wash doesn't clean it off, try claying, and if that doesn't take it off, go to a mild polish, then try a compound. Unless you have some serious acid rain, it shouldn't be a rough removal process.
