Trying Leatherique

I've used some reeeeeeeeeallly diluted Simple Green and a toothbrush before to clean those types of stains..... just make sure to follow up right away with a damp (water) washcloth, then use one of the specific leather cleaners (I favor lexol), and then your favorite conditioner (Z10)... this should work for you.

I too use the CMA leather brush and it works great. Leather is pretty tough material so I don't worry too much about damaging it with the brush. I use Eagle One's leather cleaner and go to town. I always make sure to finish cleaning by using wet paper towels to remove the cleaner residue.

This might sound funny but a magnifying glass might come in handy here. I had a problem with staining on my tan leather in my Infiniti. I used all my little tricks including Simple Green but couldn't get the dark stains out. Using a magnifying glass I came to the conclusion it was black and brown leather dye from my belts that had rubbed off and stained the leather. The discoloration was down in the fibers of the leather and would have taken a blowtorch and lighter fluid to remove. Needless to say, I lived with it. Hey, it was a leased vehicle anyway.

SO I just got my PAC order today (thanks!). I'll be trying the Leatherique in the 10yo Sable first as my wife will have the SUV most of tomorrow running errands (boo!). I will try to capture the before and afters and post later tomrrow. The other goodies will have to wait until I can get a jack to remove the tires on the SUV (think full rim cleaning on 3yo tires).

Looking forward to seeing the results Harry. As you know I have a detail coming up to do a 2006 Bentley Continental GT, and I need a leather product to use on the red leather interior. I need to decide on the Leatherique or Leather Master.

What other goodies did you get?

Have a Happy and Healthy New Year my friend!!!!!!!

Good luck Harry. I'm sure you'll love the stuff.

I transfer the amount I'm planning to use to a spray bottle then cover up the center console with a towel and plastic bag the seat belt buckles. I then spray away and work it in with a soft brush and let it sit, sometimes spraying even more on the leather.

I'm also curious to try the Leather Masters products as well although I have been happy with the Leatherique twins!

I tried the PC on the SUV driver's seat and will post pics in a few hours. I didn't see any real change (did only 1/2 the seat for comparison), but the PC side does feel somewhat softer at this point. I did use the PAC supplied brush to lightly scrub the leather, but the jean transfer just laughed. More updates to come.

Here is the SUV seat with jean transfer:

Here's the driver's seat in the Sable (outside temps are only 61+)

Seat bolster with Leatherique

In a nod to the famous Dave Fermani and toothbrush method, yes I used gloves (not for coating) and a toothbrush (better for getting into the seams and folds than my fingers)toothbrush

Yes, the posting can be done better with the pics and I will take suggestions on how to better post.

Thanks for looking and now the waiting begins....:D

Grungy, leave it on for as long as you can. At least 12 hours, 24 is even better. Aim the the car so the sun shines on the seats. The more heat the better. This product is time and heat activated, meaning the longer you leave it on and the warmer it is on the surface the better it is going to clean.

Maxepr1 - yes, I know it is heat activated and will return to the combo this summer (TX heat is very good a cooking interiors, especially without window tint :D ). Figured I would give my findings based on time constraints more realistic as I still need to use the car later today for other errands.

Ok, after 2 or so hours of sitting on the drivers seat in cool weather (not above 70 here today :cursing:),
Before and afters

It did remove the sheen from the seat and I did see (not document) the dirt coming out with the PC and the scrubbing. Seat is very matt finish and now I have the seat behind to do.. post later

Thanks Barry! The back set was interesting in that you could tell where I done the RO and PC treatment just by sliding you hand across (as well as visually as my neighbor noticed). Seats do feel softer. If you buy the kit, be prepared to order more PC in the near future as it goes pretty fast (IMO) when you are cleaning and scrubbing - maybe overkill on my part, but I wanted the seats clean :sarge
