Truth in Online Forums?

What made this come to mind. Was on a car forum, someone asked "whats the average age" of the posters who are driving a car that in the 60K to 80K range.

On the first page alone not one of the posters was over 30 and more to the tune of 20 ish. Maybe it just surprised me that kids that age could afford a car of that status and price. I can't with all else I pay a mouth and certainly couldn't have at 20.

I guess you can paint me a non-believer in some that:D

I follow the E46 BMW forums (1999-2006 3-series) and you can pick up the higher mileage cars for under $10K. They still have nice lines, still look good, so the kids buy them. They are fairly easy to work on, so the kids can afford them by DIYing. It does make the forums painful to read at times though.

That's pretty cold up that way I used to be stationed at Fort Drum lived in Watertown, NY.

It gets warmer for the 3 weeks of summer they enjoy. :D

I know multimillionaires driving 200k mile cars that they will keep clean and maintain most of them Toyotas.

And there's one of the reasons they've got the loot they do. There's a lot of millionaires around you'd never guess. A nice shack with some equity, a 401k and some investments... a $1,000,000 net worth isn't that hard to accomplish over time. But then, a million clams ain't what it used to be. :crazy2:

TL <--- still working on the 1st mil
