We All Need A Tree

I know I will be implementing this in my life. Makes for a peaceful home.

Leaving work at work is something I try to do at all times. It doesn't work all of the time, but it has greatly helped me deal with the stress that is related to my job.

Great post! :bigups

thats a really great story, thanks Troy, I hope you dont mind if I share it some other forums since its a story everyone should read

I have been reminded of this story lately especially with the holidays and all the layoffs. I thought I would bump it for the newer members.

Awesome story Troy. I know it's old, but great none the less. Thanks for the bump as I didn't see it the first time around.

This is a good email I got from a friend:

Important points made by a multi-millionaire on how he got there.

* Our success, fulfillment, and happiness depends upon our ability to relate to people effectively.
*The key to relating to others is putting yourself in someone else's place instead of putting them in their place.
*Treat people the exact way you want to be treated; Encourage Appreciate Forgive Listen Understand
It is easy to treat people you like or people that by treating them this way, you benefit in some way. Treat people this way, that you have no possibility of benefiting from in any way. Treat everyone this way. God is no respecter of persons. Why is it if you meet a person of position, or wealthy, or the head of a business (that you can benefit from or can save you money)? You act a certain way. You should treat everyone like you treat one of these people. Why are we all kind and polite and helpful and respectful to these people, then turn around and be rude to the average guy standing next to you. This is being a respecter of persons and God looks down on it. See people as assets, not adversaries. The understanding you show to them is the same understanding you will receive from God. Why are our personal problems more important than everyone else's. We want all this understanding but don't want to give any understanding. All people do dumb things, even you. Why are they dumber in our eyes? None of us have climbed up to where we are today without someone showing us unbelievable amounts of understanding. Have you got to where you are today totally on your own? Or has someone been understanding? Did you deserve it? Probably not. Did you earn it? Probably not. Give out what you want to come back to you. That is how I am where I am today. Plenty of heart felt understanding. The more I give (understanding) the more understanding God gives me. Knowing I will make many mistakes I realize I cannot give enough understanding to others for what God has already done in my life. Try it, I challenge you!!

That is a great story. I try every day to leave my work and troubles at the door before I go into the house.

Bumping it again. This is one you need to be reminded of often. I'm happy to say I have been doing this pretty well these days.

Thats a great post there Troy. I had to go look in the mirror after reading it. I'm 20 months away from retirement and now my company is on weak legs. The company has quit paying into our pension plan for the next 18 months and has gotten a 15% give-back on our pay rate. The pension plan is a multi-payer deal with our company being the largest member. If it goes under then the pension would soon follow.Looking at detailing to supplement the income a little and keep me out of the bars. LOL.
So thanks for bring this older post back onto the forum. Paul S
