Trouble Logging into DC at work..

Well it seems as of late ive been able to log into DC at work on a hit or miss basis.. this is the info the error gives me..

Technical Information (for support personnel)
• Error Code: 502 Proxy Error. The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). (12202)
• IP Address: 192.168.2.9
• Date: 11/19/2010 4:07:40 PM [GMT]
• Server: ANS-PTC-PXY01.uss.switch.com
• Source: proxy

Ive checked with my IT dept and the site isn't blocked or anything else that would not allow it to be viewed.. anyone else have this problem?
 
I too have been having trouble posting & refreshing, but only from work . . . wonder if it's a time of day related issue?

Gus-Gus, I googled your error message. Most likely there is a rule that denies access to certain IP addresses. I am wondering if your company has multiple proxy servers, and by chance on the days you can reach DC, that server has different rules then the other server. Your IT department needs to go through the logs for the days you cannot reach the site, and see which rule is stopping you.

we looked no other forums are blocked.. the only strange thing is.. it shows the DC logo in the window box before it errors out so its connecting.. but then not connecting.. i didnt have this problem before.. just started popping up a couple months ago..
 
Gus-Gus, also try pinging www.detailcity.org from work, see if you get a valid IP address back. If not, then this is your problem, your ISP (internet provider) DNS isn't resolving the name to IP address properly.
 
Obviously "not Gus", but when I try to ping from my work computer, it goes through two or three times (each with a slightly longer "round trip" time - 72ms ~ 96ms) to 72.52.165.11. Then on the next try, it searches, but comes back with the following error message:
Ping request could not find host www.detailcity.org. Please check the name & try again.

And it has continued to give me that error message for the last 15 minutes.
 
Norah, sounds like your DNS that you use, did resolve the IP address to the name, but on the succeeding times, it failed. Can you run nslookup www.detailcity.org

You may have to add the 72.52.165.11 www.detailcity.org to your hosts file, like we had to do earlier this year, for you to access the site from your office. If you need help with this, let me know.
