Trim product that restores and lasts?

In your opinion, what is the best trim restorer product you have used. One that brings back faded trim, cleans off wax and lasts.



I know PB makes a product with the name "Trim Restorer." But, are there others that you like? Meguiar's All Season, Chemical Guys, etc...



The CG Liquid Extreme Shine and VRT seem interesting. What's the difference?



Currently, I'm using Meguiars #38 and like it, but was curious about alternatives as my bottle is getting low.

Spilch, I've been curious about the #38, that is a gel, but is it clear? Or is it more like the white lotion that GC Trim Detailer is?



The Poorboy's trim restorer is magical on some types of trim, but I suspect the effects may be short lived, particularly on plastic trim. I have some Klasse VLRP that worked very well on the black side mirror trim of a late-model Sable, but I haven't seen it since so I can't vouch for the longevity.
 
According to Paul @CG, the VRT will last about a week on exterior trim, and it probably will streak too. Some reviews in the past said that Liquid Extreme Shine performed similarly to PB Trim Restorer, and Paul said about 2-3 weeks for that. Also, consider CG "gel"--Paul says 5+ weeks.



None of these products will actually clean off wax residue...they'll hide it, possibly for a little while, but it won't be permanent.
 
I've had real good results with PB's TR and good durability.

However , it works best on textured trim......molding , mirror housing , etc...as

opposed to smooth rubber seals and the like.
 
My favorites are Poorboy's Trim Restore (apply, let it sit for 30 minutes, buff residue with cotton cloth) and Adam's VRT (a thicker cream than Trim Restore that I like better on soft textured plastics and rubber.)



I pretty much only use the Trim Restore for window trim and at the base of the windshield.



Zaino Z16 (I think that's the number) which is marketed as a tire dressing is also good for trim, and it's pretty durable.

Setec, the #38 is a brown lotion that. It's a solid product.
 
You guys have all used Mothers Back to Black, correct?



Reason I ask is because I find its longetivity abysmal. I would hope products like PB TR would last longer!
 
I also like poorboy's trim restorer. Wax is completely removed (not just covered up) and leaves a nice black finish. Don't forget to buff off the excess after your done!

Clearkote VM, RMG and Yellow moose are the best by miles in my book

Removes oxidation easy as ABC, restores to original full black lustre



I usually follow with optimum PP or Autoglym 07B (far better than bumper care) and finish off with wolfgang or sonus gel using my fingertips for best results



For those who don't want a full gloss, VLRP and 1Z gummi will deliver best durability

Klasse SG and PB wheel sealant can be used on them as well but not sure about durability



On trim that's been very severly neglected, RMG with my rotary and an edge blue at 600-900 rpm with no pressure is what I do

Interesting, I find the Bumper Shine to last an incredibly long time but if 07B is better, I should get myself a bottle
 
Tropicare has a non silicone polymer tire and trim dressing that lasts for months on black plastic-its similar to the Zaino tire product
 
As a dressing based product, Poorboy's Trim Restorer gets the nod.





As a sealant based product, AIO/UPP takes the cake.
 
what about under the windows on the little black trim rubber part.....a car of mine has that part all water spotted and I tried a few coats of mother back to black on it and it didnt quite remove/cover them up....
