Tried DuraGloss #105 on a test area

Mike...The carpet cleaner is good...as I got it free..but you can get the Prestone carpet cleaner at the parts store and just as good....the window cleaner is real good....the 761 without rain repel...the 751 has rain repel and used on outside glass only....and it does shed water like mad off the glass...but AW does the same thing...

for the inside plastics like dash or doors..console..I use the NSD...non silicone dressing #321....just spray on a towel or foam sponge and wipe on..use another towel to wipe down...stuff works great...do not get any dressings on the clear plastics on the dash..like the instrument gauge cover...some of those clear plastics will react funny to dressings...I use a plastic polish on those areas...

hope this helps you

Al

Thanks AL, For years I have used Armorall and tried a few others for the inside over the years. Just always looking for something better. I'll order some #321 from my friend at Nappa Auto Parts in the AM and have it by Friday morning. Thanks again, Mike

I went to my local carquest to get this product and they did not have 105 but they had 111 also didn't have the bonding agent.
I ask him if they would be getting the 105 and he didn't know anything about it. I ask about the bonding agent and he said he had never heard of it what we sell is whats is on the shelf. Probably a lot of people have bought and applied the 111 without the bonding agent because he had never heard of it and when I told him what it was for he just shrugged his shoulders and said don't know anything about it.
Looks like I will have to order on the internet the idiots at my local carquest don't know jack$hit about it.

A few days ago I applied some #111 on my dark green car and although the shine and reflection are outstanding it doesent fill in minor swirls very good. Does #105 fill in swirls and scratches any better? I like the shine, slicknes, beading ,just wish it had more fillers in it.

I have to admit....that red has ALOT of depth to it. I might have to try some of this out. I'd have to see if it's cost effiecient first.

Nice work.

Not to many sealants will fill swirls....Duragloss is very optically clear when dried...so what ever the paint has it will show...like most synthetic sealants...

Caranubas will fill to some point...but Duragloss is like Klasse..it will not fill in any marring or swirls...it has no fillers..

Their web site states that the bonding agent will bond to wax maybe it would bond over a glaze and that would hide Small swirls but removing the swirls with a polish would be the preferable method.
AL has me wanting to try it. I just ordered the bonding agent+105+aqua Wax

If where me...I would polish to the best I could....then apply bonding agent and 105....buff off..then apply 105 2 more times with out the bonder after 24 hour wait between.....the use a wax like 16...collinite...to try to hide swirls..then use AW to keep it up...

putting 105 over wax may work..but may decrease durability also....I do not know for a fact..but if you live in a climate where you could do it once every 2 months..who cares..try it..now you have me curious..lol...

I just looked at the site..but did not find where it bonds to wax...but who knows..the stuff is incredible..it just might...

You are right I just reread their site and it said polish not wax.
I'm not sure how much difference that would make if it works over polish it may work over wax. If it didn't stick I guess you could always use a cleaner and redo it. Hope mine comes soon I want to try it on my ranger pickup.
Hope this stuff looks good on BLACK

I wanted to make sure it was not going to be like the Zaino process I'm not going to do 10 coats to get a shine on my daily driver.

You seem to misunderstand the "Zaino process." Sal Zaino himself only has 1 coat of Z5 Pro and 1 coat of Z2 Pro on his Corvette.

Multiple coats, etc. are an option, not a necessity.

No misunderstanding on my part. While those who use Z talk about a single coat they always apply multiple coats. I have not tried Duragloss my order should be here in next two days if it looks like Zaino I will have a bottle of 105 that someone can have for free because I won't ever put another coat of it on my vehicle.
I afraid that will be the case because i don't like the hard sterile gloss of a sealant. Three of my vehicles are black and since black properly prepared has a lot of shine the best balance between gloss and depth is with Pinnacle Souveran. I keep trying different products but still like PS best.

I, along with many others, rarely apply multiple coats of Zaino (in a short period of time anyway). On the other hand, I apply Souveran after almost every wash (I'm a big fan of Souveran also).

Just curious...have you used Zaino on your vehicles? If so, when was the last time?

No NEVER used it but I go to at least one show a week most times two and see zainod car all the time. Don't like how it looks. I don't need to use it to know what it looks like. Those who have it on their car typically brag about ten coats that is many more times than i would wax in a year.
10 coats of z5 or z2 with z6 between every coat then z8 is 20 times.
I usually wash once or twice a year. No need to wash I never let it get that dirty.
I will agree Zaino has tremendous gloss and if that is what you like then go for it.

Black Bart

My buddy in work just did his new RX8 with the PBA and 105....it is BLACK...he did 2 coats and then topped it Sovergan paste...WOW..it does look nice...

His wife has a Red Solstice..he is going to try PS first and then 105...to see if it works....

I may top mine now with PS paste..I have a tub sitting around....I hope it looks like his paint...just have to wait for rain to stop..maybe tomorrow...

Basicaly Red and Black react the same to products...
I will try to lock in it with some aquawax....and keep off the dust...

I plan on putting the 105 on my pickup and not topping it with anything other than their aquawax.
I'm looking for something with more durability for my Daily driver
I use the Souveran on my show car it is also black but on the show car I need the perfect balance between gloss and depth and on black nothing else beats the PS for doing that.
Since the show car is covered in a climate controlled garage all the time only out for a show the PS will last for months.
We tend to assume that everyone has the same needs but where someone leaves their car out 24/7 and says carnuba won't last they would not believe that I only wax twice a year. On my daily driver I currently have meg.26 and it needs redone about every month or so depending on weather and how often I drive it. My DD are sitting in the garage most of the time.
AL can I reapply the 105 on top of their aquawax????
I assume that i can since it is made by them.
My Duragloss should arrive today looking forward to trying it.

Yes..you can apply the sealant over the AW no problem...some people have done a wipe down of AW between coats of 105 and it looks nice and no problems....

basically what is in AW is in 105..just the 105 has more....

I see you have a Ranger also..that is what I have....I used a little over a half oz doing the 105 on it..it spreads like crazy....and goes on thin..it may not look like it's there but it is...Jerry at DuraGloss said you can prime the applicator with a fine spray of AW...not much..just a slight mist so not a dry pad..worked for me....I do it by hand....no machine...took me less then a hour to do the bonding agent and 105 and buff off...so easy...

AL

THANKS AL
Yes I have a Black Ranger XLT Super cab 4 door 4x4 with the alloy wheels I think it is a nice truck I love it and even the wife likes it better than a car.
When we go shopping the wife will say lets take the truck.
The four door is handy just sit stuff in and you can lock it. The tint on the windows are dark enough no one can tell if I left anything in it or not.:D
