Tried DuraGloss #105 on a test area

I got my Duragloss #105 last night from UPS....

It is Pinkish in color..smells tropical..

Today after work I wanted to try a spot to see how it looked....will do whole truck over the 4th..have 3 days off..

I washed the truck...I used a PC with a 4" pad and Menzerna PO85RD and just did half the hood...after polishing..I cleaned it down with Fast Clean and Shine...

I applied the 105 with a foam applicator..went on real thin..easy to work...I let it haze ..and wiped off...I did not use the Bonding Agent cause will redo it next week with the Agent...so expecting it to look even better...

The shine is deep and glossy..and wet looking...slick as a greased pig...

here is a picture I just did half the hood....

This does look better than the 111..more deep looking and wetter looking...

I think 105 x 3 will be a look to beat with AW on it....
If it is as durable as 111 it is a winner ..111 went 6 months of winter and spring...and still looks good and beading..

Looks good...getting interested in this product...let us know about durability. Got any beading shots of the same 2 sides?

I can tell you it is durable...the #111 lasted all winter into spring...and it is still on the Honda..still beading and looks great...

The Chemist at DuroGlaoss said 105 will outlast the 111 in durability...

Trick is a good prepped and clean surface..use the bonding agent...and apply the 105 over the bonding agent...

The 105 is super fortified with acrylics and polymers...and is slicker than UPP

once you put the aquawax on... it is crazy slick...

I went to their web site and carquest has it I have one of those near me.
I never seen this stuff before is it something like zaino.
I would like to try this but don't want to go through all the BS that is required for Zaino. What I mean is it like Zaino that I would have to do multiple coasts and spray something like their Z6 between each of the half dozen coats. I'm not willing to do that. What is the recommended procedure for applying this stuff.

It is not like the Zaino application..it is very easy....prep the paint to your liking..Polish...clay ..what ever you feel it needs to make your paint look and feel good

Then if you want use the Polish bonding agent...it will increase the shine and durability of the 105...Leave it on..do not buff it off

Then apply the 105 over it....let haze... buff off...apply another coat to ensure complete coverage....buff off...this stuff goes on easy and removes easier...

thats it...

to top it off after a wash.. use Aquawax ..which is a spray sealant..put it on after you dry the car ..your paint will be slicker than you ever thought of...between the 105 and Aquawax...you will have a deep wet shine....and very durable....

total cost for every thing is about 25.00.....

these products are acrylic and polymer based..

I got over 6 months on the 111 sealant and the 105 is suppose to be even better according to the Chemist at Duragloss....

O just stop it. :D Your making me want to be part of the bandwagon!!

I will be going to find some soon hopefully hehe.

Thanks for the info I think I will give it a try it looks awesome on your truck.
I have a black corvette show car and I use Souveran paste wax on it because I want the depth and since it is a garage queen it lasts a long time but I have a FORD Ranger that is black also and I want something that has the wet look but is durable. Sounds like this may be what I'm looking for but before I bought it I wanted to make sure it was not going to be like the Zaino process I'm not going to do 10 coats to get a shine on my daily driver.
My surface is already in good shape do you think the bonding agent would stick to the wax that I have on the truck now or do i need to make sure that I have it down to bare paint.
THANKS for the info bart

I would do a paint cleaner..the wax may hinder a good bond....use something like megs paint cleaner..pro polish...something with out wax in it...and you should be fine....then apply the bonding agent and 105...

THANKS AL
I'm going to call my local carquest tomorrow and see if they have it or can get me some I want to give this stuff a try.

Duragloss products are defiantly my favorite! This is the hood of my 01 Tacoma thats kept outside year round. I used Duragloss PC 652 #2 to clean and remove Small scratches and then I used a couple coats of #105 followed by the AW. The AW will not stain any of your trim and it can even e used right on the glass. Mike

I'm considering the Duragloss line right now (I just started doing this stuff and have the Klasse twins right now) but I'm wondering if the #652 compound is any good (?) Any experience with this? I do not have an abrasive polish on my shelf yet, so I'm looking for something to use with the PC.

Can you use klasse AIO as the base then the bonding agent and then 105? or will this cause durability issues for the 105? Thanks:howdy

I'm new to this stuff too but I can tell you that the 605 really left a great, smooth, clean surface. It left a shine of it's own that was unreal and felt and looked like it cleaned right down to the pours of the paint. It doesn't take much but I did a little extra rubbing . I had the time and was in no hurry, parked under a shade tree with a thermous of coffee and kooler of sodas and the radio on :D Mike

Mike...

You got that truck looking real nice...for a Bear chasing vehicle...lol..For those that do not know Mike..he does Bear photography in the back hills of W. Virginia..and has some good shots also...

Keep the truck looking good

Al

Thanks guy's! I don't baby my vehicles but I'm a believer in the idea that if you take care of them they will take care of you. Mike

I do not think you would have any problems...I even contemplated doing this myself since both products contain acrylics...if any thing it may boost your durability...you will have a nice clean surface ...

Al, Have you tried any of the Duragloss interior care products? Thinking about ordering some of the carpet cleaner and glass cleaner and maybe one to use on the dash and center consul. Mike

Mike...The carpet cleaner is good...as I got it free..but you can get the Prestone carpet cleaner at the parts store and just as good....the window cleaner is real good....the 761 without rain repel...the 751 has rain repel and used on outside glass only....and it does shed water like mad off the glass...but AW does the same thing...

for the inside plastics like dash or doors..console..I use the NSD...non silicone dressing #321....just spray on a towel or foam sponge and wipe on..use another towel to wipe down...stuff works great...do not get any dressings on the clear plastics on the dash..like the instrument gauge cover...some of those clear plastics will react funny to dressings...I use a plastic polish on those areas...

hope this helps you
