Hey, as long as a few KC residents on the Kansas side come to me too!! Not many though, I'm not quite "retired" yet, unfortunately. Man, I envy you Bill!!!

Nice work on the truck. I've said this before, but why pay all the money for a Denali and have it look like that??? Buy a base tahoe and trash that, saves tons of $$$. Craziness, great job though, those rims were nasty.

I don't know what those stains were in the back, but I didn't think about it too much..... didn't want to puke in it as well.:scared:

Thanks! It's good to keep busy in my retirement and I really enjoy my work!

Next time I get a NASTY one, I'll get one of these!

I charge $40 per hour, so $460, normally. But I gave her a discount because she's a friend, I charged her $375 and she gave me a $25 tip.

Carpet stripes... After I cleaned the carpets with Resolve Carpet Foam, I rinsed with a damp towel. Then I brushed all the carpet in one direction with a carpet brush. Then pulled the carpet brush toward me in lines to make the stripes. It works best if the carpet is damp. I'll get a "wow" from most people on this!

First of all great work

I wish we could charge that much we have to fight to get 165. People are CHEAP around here.......we do have packages that cost that much but we are putting way to much into it i think the last range rover i posted on here was a $300 job!!!!!! I need a drink and instructions on how to charge more

Believe me, people are CHEAP around here too!

I've told people that I charge $40 per hour and they laughed right in my face, got mad and said: "You're outa yur ******* mind!!!!

In those cases I always recommend they take their vehicle down to the local drive thru where they wash the car (brushes), dry it, and do a 30 second vacuum job for 18 bucks.

Very nice job on the Denali.

I dont get it. Sometimes I would like to charge more if they dont want the exterior cleaned because I hate interiors.

We should work together then, I would rather be doing an interior. I find it very zen-like making sure I get everything.

Do you live in the KC area? We could team up! You work the interior, I do the exterior!

We split the profits!

Great job Bill, the boat looks like new. How do you get into all of the little nooks and crannies around the door jambs.

I saturate the door jambs with APC, let soak in for 5 minutes or so, then agitate it with a 2" paint brush. (Use an old one because it messes up the bristles).

Rinse with a very light stream of water so you don't get any on the interior, dry with a towel.

Works great and really makes a difference in the appearance of the vehicle when you first open the doors!

Do you wax the door jambs? I did this for the first time on that GMC last weekend and I thought it really made a big difference.

Just curious.

I do that on my own vehicles. For customer cars, it just depends on how much time I have. If I've already given them an extra half hour of "extras" for free, then no.

If I have a little extra time, I will.:Innocent:

(90% of my customers are cheap and only want to spend "X" dollars, period. Charging by the hour, when I reach the time limit... I'm done. They ALL want something for nothing!:banghead:)

P.S. I always give them more than I promised. For example, I always dress the wheelwells, because it makes the car "pop" when they first see it. Other things like vacuuming the trunk and cleaning the trunk "jamb" are usually free also.

I figured you under-promise and over-deliver. I only did these jambs because they were filthy and I had to do something with them, so I just put a coat of ZAIO on them. I was surprised at how much it made the jambs pop. I will probably do that on my cars from now on.
