Trashed grounds maintenance truck

Little background story with this truck. I worked for a friend of mine one summer doing grounds maintenance work. So I drove this truck for the better part of a summer hauling a trailer, cutting commercial properties, spring/fall cleanups and mulch. It NEVER got cleaned besides just throwing some trash out, at least the summer that I worked. The truck was also used in the winter for plowing/snow removal

Fast forward a few years and hes looking to sell the truck and needs it cleaned up. PERFECT opportunity to really test out some of my newer products and equipment. Total time spent was about 4 hours, and it has no back seat!

Tools/Products
DP 8 gal Shop vac 1.5" hose and crevice tool
Daimer Kleenjet Mega 1000CVP steamer
Mytee HP60
Poorboys APC+D @ 15:1
Eco Green Carpet and Upholstery cleaner
Dupray Bio-Vap APC (steam injection)
Poorboys glass cleaner
Blackfire Interior Protectant

Besides the glass cleaner, all cleaners used are 100% biodegradable and non toxic

That is one helluva turnaround on that nasty interior! Great job and looking forward to hearing about the headliner as well.

Sure.

vacuumed first (obviously). Pre treated the dirty hard surfaces with the PB APC and let them dwell for a couple minutes. Used a small detail brush to get into the harder to reach areas. Used the steamer to blow out and "rinse" the surfaces of the cleaner while wiping with a microfiber towel. Anything missed by the APC just got a quick injection of cleaner thru the steamer and that took care of it.

Cloth seats were sprayed with the eco green cleaner and allowed to dwell for at least 10 minutes before scrubbing with the steamer then extracting with the Mytee. Both seats took 2 rounds of this to get them clean.

Flor was sprayed liberally with poorboys APC and scrubbed with the steamer and brush attachment. Then I just used the extractor to rinse and suck everything up.

Headliner I just used my normal process which I`ve had tons of success with. Use the steamer (no brush or anything) and inject the cleaner right onto the stain and immediately wipe off with a microfiber. May take a couple shots but it does the job. And no I`ve never had any issues with the liners adhesive letting go.

ShaneB- Thanks for posting about this one! Yeah, sure...GREAT WORK! Heh heh, so much so that saying it seems kinda silly. Guess what really impresses me is that you didn`t have to do countless passes, you were obviously pretty dialed-in from the jump, knowing what`d work both effectively and efficiently.

Ya know...that was a Grounds Maintenance Truck, basically a Construction Vehicle that just has to do the job...right? The Before wasn`t all that much worse (if worse at all) than some "regular daily drivers" people have posted about; the guys who use that aren`t utter slobs considering how I bet their daily work goes.

My work truck looks similar, sans trash. By the time I get home work, the last thing I want to do is spend more time in or around my truck!

I did steam clean the center console and seats once, but after a week of driving it, it was back to the original look so I decided not to waste any more time on it.
 
ShakingHorizons- That sounds perfectly reasonable to me! Sometimes a vehicle really is just a tool/appliance. Gotta prioritize....

That`s exactly how I am as well. Working out of it all week and then driving 2-5hrs home you don`t want to go back in it at all during the weekend! Most times it will be a quick wipe of the instrument cluster to see the speedo, but that`s it.
