Towels for QEW

I am moving to an apartment in a week and am forced to use QEW as my only means of washing. I am confident but concerned about my technique using it. Before I get upto speed I'd like to get some of the safest towels for QEW. Should I just go for David's WW ultimate detailing towels (used them for polishing with great results) all around? Would a drying MF work better as a final step towel? The blue pearl towels are a lot cheaper, would they make a difference with QEW?

How many towels should I get to stay safe?

Thanks

on my black car I have to use two towels (they happen to be Pakshak WW) one for blotting up most of the water and the other for a final swipe. This gives me the least amount of marring while drying.

I originally bought 100% cotton bath towels for Zaino removal, but I now only use MFs for Zaino.

So now I use the cotton towels for QEW. I'm usually able to get away with just using 1 towel with QEW on the paint. Wheels get a different towel. After the QEW, I'll go around the car with some QD and a few MFs.

VWdriver,

I QEW an F350 dually, crew cab, and am able to use one microfiber towel, and that is with WAUD. I use Micro-tek blue microfiber towels from Walmart. I have 4 of these, but will be getting about 4 more. This will be enough for me to cover two vehicles many times before washing all of my MF's. These things are very affordable for the quality, and with my black truck, halogens blazing every time I QEW, I would see any damage inflicted. Of course I use two buckets, two microfibers, one direction one pass process when QEW'ing. Also, I use different towels for ALL non-painted surfaces....wheels, bumpers, etc.

I agree with  on the QEW and WAUD combo.Whether it's a Pakshak WW or a WalMart towel I can get by with just one on my AV.WAUD helps that towel slide over the QEW water and leave a streak free finish.:D

Are you guys mixing QEW with the Eagle One Wash As You Dry????

I have tried putting some quick detailer in my QEW mix with good results.

What I do is after going over the panel with QEW,I give it a spray with WAUD.I then take my towel and hit the spot I sprayed with WAUD first then finish drying the rest of the panel. This makes the towel slide over the QEW water.I find without WAUD the plush towels tend to stick to the QEW water on the surface making it difficult to dry.

Exactly what I do. I don't mix with the water....personal pref....no specific "scientific" reason. Absolutely fantastic finish maintenance between waxing.

Pats300zx,

Thanks for this tip! I did a QEW with some Meg's FI and it came out great. Didn't need to go around the car again with FI and a MF.

as other's have posted as well, using QEW then spraying with WAUD before drying gives me a streak free, fast drying wash with only 1 WW...the windows are awesome using WAUD...I love this stuff...:)
