Towel Kleen - Towel Detergent Question??

I just replaced my washer with an HE model and can say from experience Towel Kleen works great in both non and HE machines.
 
Detergent manufacturers say anytime you use a "non HE" detergent in an HE washer, you should use about 1/4 of the amount you would normally use in a standard washer. HE washers use a lot less water so you can run into problems with too much suds or all of the detergent not being completely rinsed out of the towels. I have noticed that microfiber specific detergents don't make as much suds as regular detergents so I just use 1/2 of what Towel Kleens directions recommend to use. Then run an extra rinse cycle and you'll be A-ok.

wow so I was randomly doing it correctly..good to know


I have a GE HE washer and use towel kleen every time...I put in a little less than the recommended amount and always hit the second rinse option
never had any issues
 
I just started using Wolfgang's detergent. It says it's designed for HE machines so should I still follow the directions or use less?

I typically fill up a rubbermaid container and presoak my towels with Towel Kleen for about an hour. I then ring them out and toss them in the wash. Since some solution will remain in the damp towels, I use less Towel Kleen in the dispensor but the extra weight from the damp towels gets the machine to use a little extra water too.

The biggest advantage I find to presoaking is that you get to see the muck that would normally go through your washer. The washer washes my sons clothes as well as ours and the wife is not a fan of the dirty towels. Cant hurt to prolong the life expectancy of the drum either.
 
The WG is my favorite in my HD machine. Towels come out softer than anything else I've tried.

This is a great idea !!! I might start doing this.
 
I use 3d Towel Kleen and it is ok but nothing special IMO. I get similar results from Tide free and Clear. I agree with what others have said though, if you have a HE washer use half or 1/3 of what 3d recommends! First time using it I used 2oz and I had suds everywhere and I had to do 3 extra rinse cylces to get all the suds/ residue out. If it is a small load, Id use 0.5 oz or less and if it is a larger load I wouldnt put more than 1oz.
