Touch up on corners chips?

A customer of mine recently tipped his Yamaha bike and needs some touch up work done-seems like most of the chips happened on corners and panel edges. How can those be touched up? I'm used to doing stuff on flat or curved surfaces.

nice kit, so should i build it up layer upon layer until it's even? Should I worry about sanding/blending with the existing paint? I'm so worried to sand an edge and make it a nightmare by removing too much paint.

Sanding can be very light and controlled. Get some 1500-2000 grit. Use art erasers as a sanding block behind the paper. The erasers come in different degrees of flexibility and work great.

Touching up edges is easier than flat areas. Same technique just more margin for error. You dont see imperfections so easily. Layer it on and then lightly flatten with the sand paper. Any marring left by the sandpaper is easily polished out.

thanks for the how-to.

griots is out of the kits and I won't have it in time for the gig. any OTC suggestions? Modeling brushes perhaps?

Jaison,

Take your time and dab it on. I love these things:

Barry what a great tip, I purchased the kit and have used the red and the gray brushes and they work like great, I can't believe the control you get with a drop of paint. I use a set of magnifier glasses and these brushes. I have not tried the hypo needle yet. This really took my touch up work to a new level, thanks

Well ham, I never tried the brush you recommed but the Griot's are way ahead of a sharpened tooth pick, match stick or and artists brush. I'll have to give a look at what you like but I still love the Griot's and I use them everyday.

Edit: Those micro brushes from ebay don't look to much different just bigger, price is very close to, not worth an argument for sure.
