Torch Red C5 Corvette Polished to Perfection by Unique Car Care!!

That is pure badness.

After a bit of testing, we narrowed down our process and went to town! The first stage was definitely the most time consuming. Due to the severity of the defects and hardness of the paint, we chose to use Micro-Surface Black Lambs Wool pads paired with Menzerna Power Finish PO203s. Since the car had been re-clearcoated and we had no idea how thick the clear was, we were extremely careful and worked the PF at very slow speeds, performing multiple passes until we were happy with the results.

These wool pads are fantastic and it's all i use. With M105 or MV350 at around

900rpm, I can efficiently remove 2000 grit marks. Good stuff!

D Tailor- Thanks David!!]

Flashtime- Thanks!

I use the black lambs wool pads quite often and love them when foam just won't cut it. They do work really well with MV-350 too, but I don't like using M105 with wool for some reason.

BTW: I love your avatar! What is it?

ptaylor_9849-Patrick, thank you very much for the referral! He was such a nice guy and I could tell how much he loves his car. The paint was very hard, but it corrected very well and came out great.

So what have you been up to these days? Still have the Z06?

Got_Leather- Thanks DJ!

Gotta love those quick jobs!

Hemin8r- It sure does. Thanks!!

Rick, the Z06 is gone but I'm really enjoying my newest toy pictured below. I've learned an important lesson after owning so many cars which is this: Just because a car is expensive doesn't mean you're gonna like it more! I'm actually enjoying this mustang more than I did the Z06 at one fourth the price. I've got to call you about a wheel repair on a BMW 550 Sport.

Rick, didn't see he C5 posted before (at least I don't think so).

Very nice work.

Never did care for the Torch Red "red". I skipped buying red Corvettes when they went to the tomato-like" color. I think the 2010's will have Torch Red back and not the preferred (personally) redder/blue-er red. Too bad.

Terrific work though.

See ya. :wavey
