topping AIO

I am considering using AIO as my wax for its protection and longevity but I am curious if topping it with something else will help make my black car more wet looking and add depth. Im also curious if I need to purchase AIO, I already have PB's pwc....arent these the same thing, if so I could just top it with nattys blue right. My car spends most of its time garaged so longevity is not the biggest issue so much as looks but would like at least 3 months or so of protection.

Since you already have PWC, you can save a few bucks and go with Natty's as

a topper. AIO is indeed very good, but it's really needed if you already have

a onestep product.

So your saying that pwc and AIO are comparable...................could you use nattys to top either one?

You could use Natty's on either AIO or PWC, but I would not call them

comparable per se'. They do the same kind of job, but have different ingredients

that dictate what they can work with. PWC is primarily a chemical cleaner with a

little carnuaba, while AIO is a chemical cleaner with an acrylic resin. That said,

I've personally found that PWC works well under carnuabas, but less so with

a variety of polymer sealants, and not at all with KSG. AIO on the other hand'

works well under carnuabas, polymer sealants, and acrylics. So if you plan

on sticking with carnuabas, PWC will do the job. But if there are plans that

you might want to try out a sealant like KSG, or some others, then AIO would

be the product to look at.

Remember, AIO is just that, an all in one product. It does not contain as much of the "good stuff" as their SG when it comes to longevity protection. I would most certainly apply a dedicated sealant/protectant over AIO becaause of that. Normally I would recommend using Klasse SG, but I've been quite pleased with NXT recently.

On my black car, I've topped AIO with Souveran, Klasse SG, NXT paste and S100. As a topper for AIO on black, these are my opinions:

-Souveran: Adds incredible wetness, depth, seems to darken the way the car looked, gloss of AIO still showed, awesome by any measure but only for about a month and a half.

-SG: wet, very glossy without turning silvery, still see the color of the car, super durability, looks very good for a longer period of time, doesn't hide swirls which can be a problem with black.

-NXT paste: looks very good but not in the same class as the 2 above, won't last as long (need to prep paint to last a couple of months, something I didn't do), helps hide swirls, a superior OTC product.

-S100: seems to be between Souveran and SG in most traits like gloss, wetness, depth but not as satisfying as either of them. It would be a toss up between S100 and NXT paste. Dulls the gloss of AIO and replaces it with its own version of gloss. Has a hint of "silveryness". Still an excellent product.

I tried Souveran on top of AIO/SG and I seem to prefer AIO/Souveran without the SG.

Beastie, what about topping AIO with NXT, and then topping NXT with S100, or, like I will do, with NAtty's? I will give it a try, just to see....

AIO leaves a great-looking finish by itself, but I always top it with a sealant AND a carnauba. They both always make an improvement in the overall look.

I tried topping NXT with Souveran and while it looked good (actually had AIO x2, SGx6, NXTx4, then Souveran x2), I prefer just AIO then Souveran x2. It's hard to explain because the differences are minute and I can only form an opinion because I stare at the car long enough. Many here like topping NXT with a carnauba. My experience was probably spoiled by having too many things on my car. I'm about to start from scratch again and just do the K twins or PPCL/Souveran or AIO/Souveran after careful prep. Mind you, my choices are based on car color.
