I agree, seems like one side has a bit rougher texture for really biting through the polish while the other side is smoother for finishing off the removal...anybody else?

I believe that one (with the black border) is the old style that's not made anymore. :nixweiss

The towels you saw, did they have the black border or just a plain white towel? The plain white ones are nothing special, but the towels with the black border IMO are the best for removing polish.

The ones with the black border are the original Altimate Wipe and are discontinued. The new ones don't have the border they are edgless.

The low tight nap of the original ones make them great for difficult to remove products. Very plush towels don't seem to have the bite of these towels. I often use the non plush side of a towel for products that are difficult to remove because it has more bite.

The new Altimate Wipe isn't bad either.

I bought two of the Ultimate Wipes with the black edge and really liked them. So I ordered a 20-pack and was a bit disappointed that they were not the same.

I only looked at the towels through an opening in the package so I'm not sure. I just remember pulling a bit out and thinking it was of poorer quality than Wal-Mart's microfiber towels and that for the price per towel, I could do much better.
