Today's Details - v. Extreme Flake pop on a new camera

Great work as always Sean. Is that you hanging out in the Durango pic on the porch.? If so, glad to see your relaxing with a longneck :D

actually, that wasn't him with the long neck, i was very disappointed that he said no. in his defense though, he had spent all day in the sun and was probably extrememly dehydrated where 1 beer would knock him out clean.

Thanks everyone.

Marco: Glad you two are happy. Check out the Autopia store, they sell an OXO Car Duster which is very similar to the California Car Duster. When you use it, the surface should only be dusty, not rain, then dust or something like that. You move it over the surface front to back (the way the wind flows over it while driving) with the tips barely touching the surface. Many times it takes 2-3 gentle swipes, but it will keep your car from swirling/marring. Just remember never to drag it over the surface. I would also pick up a good QD (like the Meg's Speed Detailer) and microfiber towel just incase a bird finds you or if your tires shoot up a little muddy water. Hope this helps.

Pat: Yeh, I wish...I had a 90 minute drive ahead of me so I wasn't gonna risk it after ~10 hours in the sun :).

HOLY SH#T! GSR, you are one hell fo a detailer! If you don't mind me aksing, what did you charge for that unbeatable work? I dunno if I should go Meznerna or Poorboy's now...thanks alot :P.

I asked about the Menzerna polishes b/c I noticed you did use the big "O".

So, you're saying you like the big "O" over Menzerna. I'm just a little confused about which polish to stick with. I'm currently using SSR 2.5 but I want to try the Menzerna and now the big "O". I guess I need to research more. Is the rotary required for any of these polishes to break down properly? In reality I just want something that does a great job, doesn't make a big mess, and is easy to use. I'm not asking too much am I?

Superb results! Would you mind describing you technique for UPP spit shined with OCW? I would like to get it down for my reference file just as I have your procedure for carpet and upohlstrey cleaning. Incredible job on both vehicles.

Not to sound like a jerk, but does that really matter?

No, it doesn't matter. I sincerely apologize for making a completely useless post. Time to go hang myself from the ceiling fan. See you in hell!

awesome work sean! the maxima has a really nice wet look to it in the 1st and 2nd 'after' photos. in your opinion, was the big "O" polishes, the menzerna FPII, or the UPP spit shined with OCW, that made it look like that? thanks.

The Big O can be used with either the ""CUT"" os pad dependant so the ""WORK TIME"" is not measure in ""BREAK DOWN"" Per say.. Beacuse your not braking down the polish your working out your pad..

If you've never done this before, you must see it: view metallic paint under a 30X lighted magnifier. It looks absolutely amazing! Like a beautiful gem! I recently looked my gf's blue pearl metallic paint and looked like lapis lazuli! :bow
