Today's Detail: 1999 Chevy Camaro Z28

C. Charles Hahn

CCH Auto Appearance, LLC
This was an exterior only job, done using DACP to polish, NXT, and S100. I'm happy with the results, though there were a few spots that couldn't be gotten out via PC. I need to learn my rotary skills.

Oh, and sorry no befores, I was excited to get started as I always am when an f-body or 'vette comes to visit the shop ;) :D

 note this is a hardtop car, the owner plans to make it a drag car and supercharge it down the road. :woot:

and sorry it was night out, or I would've pulled outside for some pictures. I literally finished this like 15-20 minutes ago. :xyxthumbs

Looken good man! My 99 SS in navy blue metallic is a hard top also. Hardtop= no sqeaks or rattles any where!

oh, I don't know if I'd go quite that far... this still has some squeaks in the dash. Not nearly as bad as the t-top cars I've ridden in or driven though. :xyxthumbs

In this car's case though, I'd have to atribute that to being pushed hard by it's original owners. The current owner takes really good care of it but it still gets thrashed from time to time :D You should've seen the car when he first got it -- what a mess!

A pewter hardtop Z in IMMACULATELY detailed condition = a happy 1 Clean WS6. ;) Super work man!! :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

I guess I just got lucky with my SS. I dont think I have ever heard any squeaks or rattles out of it. If I have they were so fait that I didnt pay any attention.

I really like how the metal flake pops out on that silver!

Thanks guys!

I was having a hard time deciding between NXT/S100 or Zaino (Just got my Z2Pro and Z8 in yesterday also) but I decided I'd rather play with the Zaino later on my own vehicle before putting it on a customer car. I'm still thrilled with the results though.

That looks superb, really!

I am intrigued though, Nxt then S100? Aren't they both waxes, one being a synthetic polymer and the other a carnauba?

I assume you applied the Nxt Tech Wax with a PC and polishing pad, and then the S100 by hand?

Regardless that is a superb job :xyxthumbs

Yes, NXT was applied by PC @ Speed 4, S100 was by hand.

Also yes, both are waxes, polymer and carnauba. This vehicle is driven infrequently enough (owner lives right across the street from me, and he keeps his vehicles in at least somewhat decent shape) that it isn't going to need a "true sealant" at all. Plus, the look of NXT topped with S100 is :bow on silver/pewter so I took advantage of that :D Otherwise I might have used a coat of the #20 I have in stock, or even gone ahead with the Zaino as a base layer.

thanks! :xyxthumbs
