Todays detail, 07 Z06 (In rediculous heat)

Definetely one of the warmest weeks we have had in So Cal this Summer. I have had this one in the works for some time now. Same owner as the GMC Sierra i did a few weeks ago with all the water spots?

Great guy, and what a quiver of automobiles he has. On to todays detail, the Red (Not sure of GM paint code) 07 Z06. I was commenting after it was cleaned up, how it takes a different appearance of color from front to rear views, With the sun behind me, it appears brighter, and with the sun infront of me, the red really deepens. The owner even commented that it "popped" when i was done.

Very minor spiderwebbing, wasnt even a big concern to the owner, but I was able to reduce them about 50% with just a few additional passes with a 4" orange pad, UDM and some einszett Metallic polish. Followed up with Surf City Nano Seal, then Surf City Detailers Spray (Nuba based, and a pure pleasure to work with, and Im not a Nuba fan). I tried to use the Nano Shine Glaze Coat after the Nano Seal, but its kind of a tricky product to use (I think). Maybe it was just the heat in the garage or humidity, but it was "sticky". It's a real thin liquid, about the consistancy of VM. It applies real easy with a MF, and even clears out on its own, but what wouldnt/didnt clear out was rather difficult to remove. Even excess on the palm of my hand was literally sticky.

Wheels cleaned with Whiteknight 301 Powerstick, Surf City Beyond Steel Wheel Cleaner and Diamond Edge Wheel Dressing. I forgot my cordless and had to resort to hand cleaning until the owner got home and charged his DeWalt for me. Those front calipers are real close to the wheels and without this accessory, it just wouldnt have turned out as nice.

Tires dressed with Surf City Beyond Black Tire Pro, which was sprayed on, then wiped off fairly quickly, leaving a very matted dark finish, perfect for this owners "hot rod" as he calls it. I prefer to just call it a "machine".

Heres some before and afters.........

P.S. I get screwed again!

What is it with the hired help these days? How come they get the rides or driving priveledges? I found the work, did the majority of work, but I dont get the rides? Again, I missed out on all the fund. First my son gets a ride in this........

And now my son gets to drive the Z06?

I guess someone has to be the photographer eh?

Nice work on the Z06, looks a lot deeper and wetter in the afters. :up

I got to agree about what a PITA it is to clean those wheels, I have two regulars with Z06s so I have to clean them pretty regularly.

Excellent work Patrick! The red looks very deep.

Good friend should be getting his new adam in a week or so.

Patrick..

Where did you get that WhiteKnight Power stick, and do you have an approximate cost? It would be a great tool to add to the "aresnal".

Great job Patrick, looks like two different cars in the before and afters.

I noticed we had the same experience with the scg glaze, whereas the other lsp products were simply a breeze to remove. How did you like the slickness with the sealant alone? I was pretty impressed.

Brian, real stange product that Glaze is! I really think it was the temp in the garage. Was it real warm when you used it? And as with you, everything else was fine to work with!

Patrick,

No I actually used it last night around 11:00. I applied it with a 4" blue finesse pad via rotary, that's why i figured it was hard to remove. I HAD to use thier qd to remove it.

Awesome work Patrick! Between the 2nd to 3nd pic's shows your workmanship! (blew me away), attention to detail was outstanding and thanks for the information on the SC products!:2thumbs:

Awesome work Patrick. The paint is dripping wet.

Do you have anymore info on the White Knight Power stick??? Sounds like a neat product.

The Vette looks beautiful! Good thing you had a garage to detail in. I went outside today only to get the newspaper and man it's scorching out there.

How do you like the powerstick? Have you been using them for awhile? If so, how are they holding up? They look like they'd come in really handy on some wheels. I've been using the Meg's wheel spoke brush (the one that looks like corn on the cob) and they just don't seem to last as long as I'd like. The last one I opened and used, I was able to get one use out of it and now it keeps falling out of its handle. I'd hate to pay over $50 for something if it doesn't last that long.

Thanks Black, and to all others for the compliments. I have used it on several vehicles now, and so far so good. I TOTALLY understand what your saying about the Megs brush, i got so tired of staining shirts and staining my arms with brake dust, this really came about by the inventors gesture in the nick of time. My Megs brush is totally thrashed, but I got my money out of it. When I got it in the mail, I thought "When did I order this"? The rest is history, so I thought I would share.

So the Atom is street driven? Looks like a blast.
More of a weekender for him.....

You didn't mess with that Turbo, did ya Patrick?:lol

Guess I'm seeing yet MORE products I've got to get from you now.

The 'Vette REALLY looks nice!
