I-VTEC is a ****ing joke. It literally means nothing whatsoever. I'll admit it because it's fact, and I own the following:

They should have stuck with the actual 3-lobe VTEC instead of half-assing it and just wanting to keep people thinking VTEC still exists. I'm afraid to say that next to the S2K, true VTEC has been shown the door. That aside, HONDAS RULE!

Nice paint work man, I love my car, but silver is SO hard to get to glow.

Are you kidding me???

ditto on the :2thumbs: regarding 4* polishes...i've been very happy with them since receiving the products from danase and 4*. good bunch to work with as well...great communication and happy to answer any questions i had. top notch!

VTEC - Valve Timing(and Lift ) Electronically controlled.

I-vtec is the same thing, but with VTC.

Also known as Variable Cam phasing.

With a VTEC motor, at all times of acceleration 4 valves work per cylinder.

With an I-VTEC motor, Below VTEC both Exhaust valves work and only 1 intake valve opens. This causes more suction from the one intake valve being open which also causes all the air that gets sucked in to be sucked in with a spirial like motion. The gas is then distributed through the combustion chamber more evenly. Creating better low end torque gains. This one intake valve working motion is known as VTC or Variable Cam Phasing. When VTEC is crossed over to the other intake valve opens and all 4 valve work.

Patrick - That looks amazing and I agree that blue is incredible. WRB Pearl from the WRX is another great blue, but the flake on the SI is insane. Great detail

lemans - you don't have the same I-VTEC in your EP3 as in the SI. Your K20A3 only has VTEC cam lobes on the intake side rather than both intake and exhaust sides like in the new SI and RSX Type-S. That's why you think it sucks......cause on the EP3 it does.

man... you are right and that sucks:

its like a sohc with VTC and VTEC

BTW Patrick, that is some good stuff, I'm sure we'd see more blue civics on the road if subaru didn't oversaturate the market w/ blue = ]
