Today I met the champ of all door dingers.

someone opened their door into my car so hard that the alarm went off. left a nice white mark (paint transfer) on my black paint which i will be trying to remove tonight.

i was extremely temped to get revenge and key his car or give him a nice dent, but i couldnt bring myself to do it.

LOL! Me too! I've arrived plenty early to places to do just this!

yep, I've gone home and/or moved the car plenty of times when someone else came and parked a litle too close for comfort :D

Bill, you, me and all other fellow autopians here are not normal. People remind me of this almost daily. I sometimes think thay may be right but then I go look at my shiny car and I feel better. :D

I practice a parking technique that my wife calls "Egyptian" - parking so far away from civilization it's like a visit to Egypt.

The rules are simple. If there are spaces far away then park there. In Atlanta we usually have trees in medians. I like to park next to the landscaped median so I am protected on at least one side. I really like a median on the right side and an extra wide spot on the left say one next to a handicapped parking spot that has a wide area for the wheelchair to move. I also like corner spots which often build in a natural width on both sides of the car.

I think the best rule is the Golden one-I treat other people's cars as I would treat my own.

If there is a mishap, fortunately PDR techniques are fairly good these days...

Thanks for the tip, gnahc79! Will try heating it up a bit and go at it, but it's kind of od how this bumper is sttached. I'll figure it out.

Silver Lexus and I do the same. I wish we had more medians with trees inbetween spaces around here :(
