To stick with #9 or move to #80?

I've just bought a PC which is hopefully somewhere over the Atlantic as we speak and I'm having a bit of a dilemma re: swirl removers.

I recently bought #9, #7 and #26 to use with the PC, but having read pages of posts the general consensus is that #9 is more of a filler than a polish. Would I be better forgetting #9 and going straight to #80 or is #9 not actually as bad as everybody makes out?

I don't have that many swirls on my car at present, but want a product that actually removes them rather that hides the fact that they're there.

When I've used all my Megs I'll try some other products (like the well known AIO!), but as I've only used them once I may as well finish them off rather than just bin them and start again.

Any help greatly appreciated!:xyxthumbs

BenP,

Welcome to Autopia :wavey

#80 or similar product for sure. I wasted quite along time between #9 and the 3m equivalent getting red in the face about why my results were so short lived, if made at all.

BenP, I would have to agree with others that #80 is the way to go, it removed swirls from my black truck and left a real nice shine, went to AIO after # 80 and the results were great. just my 2 cents have a great day !

I think #80 finishes off more nicely than #9 does. #80 leaves the paint with a rich, deep wet look while #9 is more clear and a bit more reflective.

Cheers guys, having read some more threads about #80/82/83 vs SSR1/2/2.5 I think I'm just going to have to get them all and experiment on an old panel!
