To detail or not to detail

Honda Accord 08 Metallic Grey.



I been detailing my car for about 6months now. I am having a problem with keeping the car clean. Detailing a car should make it better than most cars on the road. However, I dont know if its my car, if I am doing something wrong, if I missed something, or bad luck, but I find my car gets dirtier than people who dont even detail there car. Ex) It was snowing very lightly in NYC this weekend. When the snow melted, other peoples cars look dusty and maybe some slight dirt specs, but mine look like a bird bomb fest of dirty. Lots of dirt spots on the hood and roof. The trunk wasnt too bad, but it was noticable.



So far all that has touched my car are ONR, KAIO, Wolfgang clay, nxt2.0, optiseal, collinite 476, fk425. what could have went wrong?



Sometimes I wonder why I even bother. Please save me.
 
Sometimes having fresh wax on the car the water beads up and leaves a lot of spots, which can appear worse than other cars where there is no beading and the water sheets out and spreads the dirt into an even layer (or off the car). The beading spots are particularly noticeable if as you say, the precipitation is very light and the dust isn't washed off the car, but just is collected and concentrated by the beads.
 
Yeah, and dirt/etc. on an otherwise very nice finish often seems more obvious than the same dirt on a not-so-nice finish.
 
Thanks. that logically makes sense. Too bad theres no real remedy for this, beside qd. but them dirt can sometime really pile and appear fast...

Agree. My van is suffering from this very thing, it looks awful at the moment, Time to call in slick from work and wash it:LOLOL
