It has been suggested that I use semi gloss black to paint my trim rings to give the car an all black `stealth` look and I was wondering what the general opinion was. Should I do it or no? Semi gloss or full gloss paint? Leave them silver?

It will look great in the short run then chip up and look poor imho. If you want the all black look power coat.

Personally I`d leave it.

I`m personally not a fan other long term use of plasti-dip, but think it`s great for temporary use to see if you like a look.

If you prep it right you can rattle can with great results. The key, as with everything, is prep. Proper prep and curing it won`t chip.

I personally would black it out. Satin would give a nice subtle contrast.

Here are mine redone due to previous owners improper care.

I say leave em.

Same opinion here. If ya don`t like the contrasting "silver trim ring" look then just don`t run trim rings.

For some reason I`m getting to dislike the all-black wheel look. Just doesn`t get it for me most of the time these days. NONETHELESS, I think those wheels might look good on that car without the rings if you just don`t want the current look.

id leave it...
I don`t know what powder coating it would cost but I would rather spend that $ on new wheels or something else.

I like the contrast you got going on there (and I drive a black on black on black SRT so I am even a little partial to all black)

Leave it or send it to the powder coat shop. I`ve never been a great fan of all black but I think it`s kind of a generational thing. I still like chrome so what do I know?

Well if these are plastic rings then powder coating is out. Sorry Don, time for new wheels. :) Since we`re at it we`ll need to cut that sidewall down a bit too. :) Then we`ll need to look at a V8, then a blower, time for a new car. This is where Ron started and now he`s got a new Vette. ;) I`m kiddin` of course.

If you`re buyin` ;)

Most of my thoughts have already been mentioned, such as just take `em off if you want all black, or look for a set of LT or SS takeoffs on CL. Here`s a different idea; Tape off the flat part of the rings at the bead, then shoot the dished part with Plasti-dip or Rustoleum`s new paint film product. It should look kinda like this:
