Cars dont keep there value like houses do. It kinda makes me made to see that my car gos down in value bye the month no matter how much i customize it. No one posted here for a while so i thought i would
 
Buy used and let someone else take the depreciation hit.



And never customize a car. That's a guaranteed value killer. You may like the look of your customized car but the chances someone else will are almost zero.



I pay close attention to classic and exotic car values. And it's clear that modified cars always sell for less that untouched original cars. Doesn't matter the brand.



If you've got to customize because you can't control yourself, then do it so the modifications can be reversed and the car made original before you sell it. Then sell the parts separately or put them on another car.
 
I am a stock fan myself!!! Except for maybe replacing speakers or other stuff you cannot see. But that is me!!!
 
Have you ever noted that some of the best looking cars are the ones that look just like the manufacturer's intent - stock ( stock wheels, body colors, glass, etc) but only better because of the detailing care by the owners.

IIRC, the person that told me that was Michael Sheehan, noted Ferrari expert.
