Tire/Wheel Well Dressing

I'm seeking a new product for tires and wheel wells. I like the Optimum range of products so Opti-bond got my attention. I also had my eye on Meguiars hyper dressing.





Optimum Opti-bond 1 gallon 35.99

Meg's hyper Dressing 1 gallon for about $50



Any comments about either?



Any other 1 gallon products that would fill the job?
 
Chemical Guys VRP cut 2:1 is what I've been using for about 2 years. Since you are cutting it, it makes 3 gallons which equates to a little over $10/gal. The shine is very good (think AA), but its more durable and dries *dry*, no greasiness. Did I mention it's water-based?
 
I lke using Meguiar's Hyper Dressing at 3:1. It is my go-to product for wheel wells, and I'll occasionally use it on tires to mix things up a bit. On tires it leaves a nice satin sheen.
 
what does OB look like at 2:1 and 3:1 have any pics? that may be the cheapest way for me to go...it has to look good though :)



can you dilute all tire dressings that are water based? what about solvent based?

The link I provided in the post above has pics of 3:1 and 2:1. OB results are best through a spray gun. I didn't like it straight with a pad. I never tried it diluted with a pad though. I like OB, Scott's Tire Magic ($36 for 5 gallons), and Optimum's Tire shine the best of all I've tried. Hyper Dressing gets an honorable mention, but I can get the same results cheaper.



The water based formulas first dull as you dilute and then get blotchy if you dilute too much. Some are intended to be diluted, others aren't. You can try it out and see if you like the results. You shouldn't use solvent based on your tires. You can use them on your trim and wells, though then you'd be carrying around two products.
 
I use Adams Undercarriage spray for wheel wells but I just bought a gallon from Chemical Guys to try theirs, the Adams works fine although the scent of grapes kinda turns me off but Adams made 4 gallons for me with less fragrance and I like it much better than the normal. YMMV
 
I use sonus tire dressing for for the wheel wells I use sonus Motor and trim kote, works alright but is a PITA to apply, spray it on, wait 15 min, spray on again.

My walmart has it for $2.98 :nana:





It gives me great results dressing up the black wheel wells for up to the next car wash.

AA= Armor All. I just use regular old Armor all in a spray bottle. I'll use APC on the wells, and clean them up. Once clean and dry I'll spray some armor all in there and either turn the tires and wipe it or let it sit on them for a while and then wipe.
