Hey, that's not fair! I was encouraging an alternate pro detailing approach. What's wrong with thinking outside the box?
 
Dustin man we're going to have to talk here soon... Read through the forums as much as you can before you come back to this. You're making alot of rookie mistakes on here already. No biggie but before the verbal lashing begins just read.

Hey, I wasn't making fun of you, everyone has their niche in this business, their market segment, so to speak. And you're clearly successful at yours.

think of it as tough love...it might sound bad, but it will make you a better detailer

You got a point there I need before and after pictures, this guy really just wanted a simple clean up and vacuum his truck this truck is almost brand new, he also uses hes truck to feed his cows and goats with. I could have used a screw driver and removed the hub and cleaned down in there.
 
I'm with Jim... if it works for you, great, but making statements such as the products you use are the best and products>process is just ridiculous... process will always be more important than products.. you're pretty much contradicting yourself by saying you tried a few other products and went back to what works for your process, meaning it's the process that counts and whatever products work well with it and satisfy the detailer and the client... not trying to attack you here but as Jim said, read, learn and get better as a detailer...



As for your statements, at least tell me why stuff like why is Zip Wax better than Meg's GC (which I love personally) and why are you recommending Mother's Cleaner Wax over another product... 99% of the waxes/sealants out there have a good shine... Tell me this so I can learn as well...



Again, not attacking you just saying either back up some of your statements or read through the forums (read posts by Todd, scottwax, rydawg, picus, etc.) and you'll see how much there is to learn...

I personally like zip wax because its a great soap as far as removing old stubborn stains, bugs, road tar, etc.. It also has a little clear coat protectant in it just like meguiars gold class. Its a lot cheaper then gold class and other soaps and gets the job done with the car looking very clean.



I like mothers wax because its a very easy to buff with and stays on the car for well over three months, some waxes look awesome but go away after a month or two. I think it does rather well on this truck:

What clear coat protectant?
 
In most car wash soaps they put a surface protectant in them to give the effects of waxing your car. Kinda like rain-x but very cheap version and label them wax.
 
Gold Class has a better surface protectant in it then zip wax, most wash liquids wont strip away previous waxes unless you use detergent like what you wash dishes with.
 
well actually plenty of car shampoos can strip off wax if you add more than the suggested amount but generally what you say is true re: dish soaps. Some people, mostly back in the day, would wash their car with Dawn dish soap to intentionally strip off the old wax.
