Timeless Automotive Designs

Driving around in the area I just moved to, I have noticed a LOT of gorgeous vehicles. Some, even though they've been around for a few years, I still find their designs timeless.

Here are my choices for this topic:

Porsche 993

Mercedes-Benz SL500

What are yours?

In terms of classic automotive design, I love just about anything ( lots of vehicles) designed by Harley Earl, the Leonardo DaVinci of his genre. :bow

There are so many cars that I would consider for this. Some old, some new, but if I had to choose just one to highlight. It would be the Honda NSX.

E46 M3...I see that car everyday, and I don't think I would ever stop liking it. The flared fenders, wide tires. The looks mean business.

Timless designs...the original Porsche 911 nothing with flared fenders or whale tails.

My favorite of all time the Ferrari 246 Dino Spyder.

How about a 1962 Lincoln Continental 4 door.

I don't think anything today is going down in auto history as timeless.

I thought this both timeless and a classic. 1965 Buick riviera.

Go ahead and laugh, but I always thought that the first-generation GM F-bodies (Firebird, Camaro), was one of the General's better designs.

I also agree with those who mentioned the 911 series, and the E46 M3.

One of the modern cars I would suggest would be Vipers, specifically 1st and 2nd gens, GTS screams sex appeal and aggresiveness, curves galore. Definite classic and especially being a raw drivers car in a time of techy devices and controls.

I'd say the Porsche 911 and probably :) the new Porsche Cayman. I really dig those curves. :hifive:

I'd also add the Lamborghini Miura and the Ferrari Daytona Spider. Probably the Talbott Lago also.

I love how Corvette Stingrays look (all of them). I don't think that the C4s-C5s are timeless at all, they're just wedge shapped. The new C6s are hawt but I dunno...

I agree 100% with the 911... awsome design.

Cars from the 50s and 60s with fins and lots of chrome.. I like. However I really don't care for late 60s-70s muscle/pony cars all that much for some reason. Love the last 60s Mustangs though, they aren't as boxy.

The BMW Z8 still takes my breath away in a way usually reserved only for things from Maranello. This car was so gorgeous they needed to bring in the likes of Chris Bangle to restore entropy to the universe.
