I am buying myself a PC for X Mass but wanted to gte some feedback from people that know as to who offer the best/most complete kit?

Also, what are some good. easy to apply products to start out with?

Thanks-mucho

The autopia kits are great for beginners. They offer everything you need to get started. I just find that they're a little overpriced. The autogeek system is a great choice also. Like the other two systems suggested here, it includes everything that your going to need to get started. really, any of these all-inclusive systems will suit you well. If you want to do some research try to look up threads about the pads included in each system. Autogeek uses Lake Country pads, excel uses propel pads, autopia's kits use sonus pads (don't know about the DP kit).

I am doing some searching....out of all the kits, in your opinion, who do you think give you the best all-around product that will serve me out of the box?

buy the PC @ lowe's and then buy both the large pad kit (the one w/ the 5" backing plate) and the 4" turbo pad kit from excel detail. Its relatively cheap and I go for long periods of time between hearing bad things about propel pads. Plus having both a 4" pad set and a 6.5" pad set will allow you to do your processes more efficently. The smaller pads are for defect removing with swirl removing abrasive polishes while the larger pads are for applying paint cleaners, sealants, and liquid waxes quickly.

I'm with Neothin on this one. I did exactly and been happy. I bought the PC 7336 at Lowes and pad kit at Excel. I also bought a 12" tool bag as sears for 4.99 to store the PC and pads.

I agree with everyone that has recommended the Excel site as the one to go to. Excellent pads and service.

Since you are getting a good deal spend the saved money and get all the backing plates so you are able to get the different pads to find which one that you like. I have them all. Use them as I need for whatever situation comes up on my vehicles. Just another option to consider.

I see that...now.

Thnaks everyone for the input...I just got back from Lowes with the 7336 and ordered both pad kits and a bunch of Poorboys from Excel...This should keep me out of trouble

Oh no... this is just the first step in the addiction. next your going to start buying more products because you just want to try them out. Then your going to start picking up items like foam guns, wet/dry vac's, light stands, etc. Then your going to start feeling yourself getting sick everytime you walk thru a parking lot on a sunny day and see the horrible swirling on the parked cars. This will eventually lead to you washing several times a week, buffing until the wee hours of the morning, looking for detailing supplies everywhere you go, and yelling at people for touching your paint. This is the beginning of you getting into trouble :D

I already have the early stages of the sickness....I have been posting here for a little while just have not been around lately and decided it was time to come back and get more serious.

On the sickness note....Driving home a few weeks ago I heard the song "Mud on the tires" and it bothered me that someone would buy a brand new 4X4 and take it mudding befoire doing anythign to it

You can got to Coastal Tool (www.coastaltool.com) and get one for $119!!!! (Brand New) This is as cheap as I have seen it. This includes a 5' polishng Pad, 5' Counterweight as well as a 6' Hook and Loop pad and 6' Counterweight. You can get pads LC Pads at Top of the Line for as little as 416/pair.

I hope that this helps.
