Time for my own stuff, finally! BFWD party

Hey Hook, I just sold my Omega Seamaster GMT. I was thinking about how the watch I have now would look if I used some Sealant Glaze on the bracelet!

Isn't that watch used by James Bond (the one you just sold)? If you don't mind me asking, how much did you sell it for?

What time piece do you have right now?

The off-topic thread that wouldn't die....

Yes, I recently had to do touch-up on my band...it's brushed stainless/polished gold...taped off the gold bars and gently rubbed a 1000 grit wet paper in one direction over the brushed stainless to remove some scratches.

That's the bad part about a nice watch - every time I bump something I cringe...not that way with my Timex!

Hey Hook, how about jewellers cloth next time? It's impregnated with rouge.

Not quite abrasive enough. My jeweller recommended the method (I didn't have time to leave the watch with him). Hard to tell, but the satinless parts have a definite brushed appearance - a rouge would just make them shiny and take out the brushing...

It worked great!

Jason,

James Bond uses what ever the advertisers pay him to sell.

I have seen james bond with Seiko watches and lots of Sony stuff especially the trinitron monitors.

The Lotus Sprit Turbo was mostly unknown until he drove one in 'For Your Eyes Only' and then everybody wanted one.

Things here in Utah are slowing down as the weather turns so I found time to do some much needed detailing on my own vehicles. First was the wife's car...a 2005 Scion Xa. This was a real back breaker, wish I had a lift for this one because it's so low. It's pretty well maintained so it got clayed w/ BF Polyclay, hit some small scratches with 205, then 105, then 2 coats of BFWD. Wheels got the same treatment. This is the first time it got BFWD, been using the Klasse twins til now. Anyway it never looked better (except for the curb rash on her wheels) No sun pics because it was getting ready to snow as I was finishing. Even as small as this car is I spent almost 7 hours inside and out....what OCD?????

also found time last week for my workhorse mobile unit, 1971 IH. This also is well maintained and garaged when not in use. It got the same treatment as the car....Polyclay, 105, 2 coats BFWD. Wheels polished w/ KAIO, then BFWD. I can honestly say the truck has never looked so good!!

It's about time!!! Just kidding of course! Nice work on both vehicles....

I especially like the IH. When your truck is your business, it has to look good!:drool5:

Yup, luckily I don't detail in bad weather because I am mobile, so it really is pretty easy to maintain. I does get dirty sometimes from washing a car in close proximity. I use Blackfire spray wax/ cleaner between washes to maintain it.

Those look great! Can't wait to try the BFWD.
I have a 1971 GMC pickup. But the IH trucks are pretty unique - I love them.

If you used BFWD and then the BF spray wax/cleaner, could you hit again with BFWD or would you have to remove the spray wax first? I have used the BDWD and the spray gloss (not spray wax) but that I'm told is really a sealant spray. Never used the spray cleaner/wax cause I want to be able to always top with another coat of BFWD.

Longtime lurker here.

That beeyouteeful Binder prompted me to finally register. So that I could say wow, that's a beeyouteeful Binder.

Great truck! I had an IH Travelall... same color, same year. That beast was ahead of its time! Do you have the dual gas tanks with the knob on the dash to switch from one to the other? Good memories in that tank!

I got a deal because the owner was getting about 4mpg. I replaced a cracked distributor cap for $6 and she drove like a dream.

Wish I still had the IH... or a Checker Marathon.
