Hey Gang, I'm a newb to the forum and looking forward to using many products discussed here. I've used a Mothers PowerBall I bought years ago, a few times but only with some OTC cleaner waxes from Mothers and Meguirars. Any thoughts on using this tool with any of the waxes, sealants & glazes disscussed in the forums?:thought:

Welcome to the Forum, New Mexico !

No I doubt if anyone here that has been here for awhile uses the Mother's Powerball on anything except maybe the Cone shaped one on wheels.

That is not to say it wont work for some things, but mostly we use Rotary Power, or Random Orbital/D/A machines that have velcro backing plates for foam or microfiber pads.

I know that awhile back Mother's was running TV ads showing some people using that you are asking about, but I cant remember every discussing the merits of this technique here.

Good luck with your research ! Anytime you want to discuss alternatives to that, let us know. :)

The PowerBall 4paint is used to apply/spread a wax or glaze. It's not meant to be used for defect removal, and won't work with a polish or compound, due to the softness of the foam.

The ability of the ball to compress means it does a great job where a fixed back DA or rotary won't go (inside recessed door handles, between a raised spoiler and the trunk deck, etc.).

Thanks Forrest for listing the best uses for the PowerBall.
