I was reading on a different board and there is a big discussion about detailing products and one person who is says he is a professional detailer made this comment among others:
"Also, those who use REAL carnuba wax on clearcoat/basecoat finishes, you are slowly but surely dissolving your clearcoat. Ecolab has proven that carnuba does absolutely nothing for enhancing the shine of the vehicle w/ basecoat/clearcoat paint. Real carnuba, in its pure form is rock hard and contains somewhat toxic chemcials. Its similar to using synthetic products (man made) that contain high levels of petroleum and silicon. these two chemicals are added for the high shine they produce (especially in tire dressing) but will damage paint and rubber over time."
Is this BS or does this guy know what he is talking about? I have never heard that carnauba can dissovle the clear coat. I would post the rest of what he said, but it was basically a bash on zaino and then praising the products he uses.
