Thoughts on Chemical Guys Products

I have to agree their products are almost too easy to use. EZ Creme Glaze is my fav for exterior just because of the ridiculously wet look it gives me on the two black cars we have. M Seal is wonderful as well and holding up quite nicely after this truly bizarre summer we're having in Ohio. (Car is outside most of the time) Leather Conditioner Restore is what I use in my vette and love it! My other cars get Natural Shine and it looks great, is as easy to use as PB's NL and looks every bit as good! If you ever have the chance to talk to the guys there they really are extremely friendly and helpfull and yes they really should hire a proof reader. WHOA! Have to edit here as I forgot about Pro Polish and Maxi Suds, two more of CG's great line up I use and love.

Yo Sherman8r, so you say their waxes/sealants don't fair well in the durability dept, how long (months) did it last for you or after how many washes did water stop beading?

What sealant would you recommend that has lasted the longest for you?

Also would you use the Spider before the Extreme ALL-in-1 or after? Whcih is more abrasive of the two? Thanks dude.

Spider is waaaaaay more abrasive than Extreme AIO. Spider has quite a bit of cut (perfect IMO) while AIO is mostly a chemical cleaner polish.

Water continues to bead pretty well for awhile, but rainstorms are the main LSP-killer for me. Slickness, my favorite characteristic of a sealant/wax, is gone after the first rain. And beading sticks around for a lot longer, but after a few rains the beading gets patchy and uneven.

Wow, thanks for all that info everybody, especially Sherman & RCBuddha!!! That was 10x more information that I expected to get.

Couple more questions. You guys mentioned two guys named Bob & Paul. Do they work at CG or are they board members? If their board members, what's their screen names?

I've written down all the products that eveybody has recommended here...quite a long list. I'll hit CG's website and read about all these products today. Can't wait to start trying out their products!

No problem man.

In addition to what awahl63 said, Bob is also a forum sponsor here by the name of Danase, and he has his own private sponsored forum here. He also has his own forum, danaseforums.com.

Oh forgot one more favorite product: SILK SHINE Interior Detailer is awesome. You can use it pretty much anywhere in the interior, and it cleans AND protects. It is also very easy to use, just spray and keep wiping until the shine is just how you want it. Good luck with the reading...get some coffee and prepare yourself! LOL

Mike B. why don't you like their butter wet-wax. I think it's a great product

At least for me on two diff cars, the slickness dies with a few days with rain and the beading little in about 2 week. Nattys is better but my Jeff W AJT blows both away.

should sell the rest of the butter and nattys blue. At least it sells good. I like CG pro detailer and others; just not BWW.

I know. I think BWW is ok but nattys is better. I can get the same outcome of BWW with PB QW+. Just saying there BWW is not that great and would not buy it every again. Not knocking all there products.

Right, I was meaning the synthetic comparison to nuba base.

BWW is not my favorite wax by any means, but it does have its place. I like it to add a quick coat with PC then top that with another type of nuba.

butter wet wax works well as a base for a carnauba, not very good by itself in terms of protection but in terms of looks its quite good.

Particularly the setup is use most of the time is polish with spider web and orange pad, ez creme glaze and then top coat if I want a more wet look or FS if I want a more clean and acrylic look and both options turn out great! :spot

for interior dressing VRT is my go to, I just love that stuff, it has such a soft touch... and it creates kind of a barrier so dust almost never settles there :woot2:

for exterior dressing GEL is the way to go, it resists hot temperatures like a champ, looks astonishing on tires and plastic moldings and last for weeks!

The new silk shine dressing is great too but I really prefer the VRT, the silk shine is very similar to it but leaves a little less shine on the interior. The good thing about it is that it smells way better than the VRT.

But the latest products that surprised me the most were their new MF and WW towels, they are soooooo soft and fluffy, I just feel like using them on me :chuckle:

Maybe try that. BWW then nattys.
