My name is Mike
My co-worker's, the track instructor, DD and principle track car and returning customer (http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/detailers-showcase/39223-what-happens.html & http://www.autopiaforums.com/forums/detailers-showcase/38928-my-first-supercar.html) . An Imola Red 2007 BMW Z4M Coupe. It pretty much came straight from the track and full of tire rubber on the paint and wheels.
Decon
Wheels - PBW Spray & Rinse followed by Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner
Tires & Wheel Well - Zep Orange
Foam - CG Citrus Wash
Wash - CG Honeydew Dew Snow Foam
IronX/IronX Snow Foam
Rinse - 1Z W99
Clay - Nanoskin Autoscrub Pad + GG6 + ONR & Hi Tech Magna Sponge + Dodo Juice Born Slippy
These clay substitutes did a number on the rubber that made it to the paint. The sponge was used to get what the Autoscrub Pad left.
I was surprised by the lack of damage on the front of the car.
Turned out that he had hit a deer and the front end was replaced and repainted about 6 months prior. Well done, too, except for the front spoiler where the paint is chipping and peeling.
Decided to go with Total Whiplash -
RUPES 21 + LC Yellow Constant Pressure CCS + BF SRC Compound
RUPES 15 + B&S Yellow + BF SRC Compound
GG6 + 3" GG Orange + BF SRC Compound
RUPES 21 + LC Green CP CCS + BF SRC Finishing Polish
RUPES 21 + LC Blue CCS + BF WD AFPP & BF WD Polymer Spray
It did draw attention. My other buddy dropped by for a little TLC on his car and snapped copious pics. These were mine:
So you may be thinking, "Why was this one dedicated to Todd?" The extensive use of Blackfire products with stellar results is the easy answer. That and I haven't won any free stuff in a while and figured it wouldn't hurt my chances in the next contest.
Thanks for looking. Questions welcome.
