If you live anywhere close to Lake St. Clair, you know it's time for the annual Fish Fly hatching. These things are disgusting and can travel a pretty decent distance to make a mess of your surroundings. Here's what I have to deal with for about 2 weeks:

Way worse at night as they really like the light:

I was on vacation years ago in AZ and went to grand canyon. Well, this time they had these bugs that were attracted to white. I was driving a white rental. I vacuumed $20 worth to suck them up (didn't succeed) - they were inside the doors by the hundreds.

Ha. The place I get my coffee at in the morning let thier inside lights on and a couple of vents open in their upper windows. The coolers were complete layered in Fish Flies and it was a dissaster. I'm kicking myself for not snapping a pic.

When you drive down the streets near the water, all you can hear is a constant crunching as you dessimate 100's and 1000's of these things laying on the ground.:smash::car:

Definetly not my kind of fishfly (flies) besides I tie my own ;)

Those things are nasty and I didn't think there was anything worse than FL Love bugs

So are these guys any worse then your Lovebugs? Up here around bodies of water, we have Mayflies which look to be a little smaller then these guys. They don't get as bad as the pics David posted but ohh man on a nice humid night near the Susqie, these guys just terrorize anyone and everyone out on the road!

All I can say is thank God we dont have them over here! Love bugs are mere minor inconveniences compared to those!

Yuck. Proves in fact there is something ONR can't handle! Time for the pressure washer!!!

Look at it this way.. for the detailers in that area... it's job security!

Imagine if they had to deal with :flypig: :flypig: :flypig:
