This is Fresh (Duh) Evaluate My Website...

Not everybody has high speed internet connection,

If you want the flash, give the option for for a non-flash web page for people that dealing with a standard dial-up.

Showcase quality pics of your work (before and after comparison)

Just my $.02

Good Luck

I found it easy to use and well done IMO.

I agree that the pics are alittle blurry, and when you get to the wash and wax $75 print...a photo of a section of blazer with heavy oxidation being buffed off might give some people the wrong impression of what they'll get for $75.

all in all I liked it !

I agree with most of the comments, the teal is awful, you need to check spelling-nothing is more amateur on a business site than bad spelling,i.e.imbedded should be Embedded. Would love to have you do my car though. Good luck.

less is more... simple is better. Clean, informative and people should not have to click more than two times to get the information they want - or else they are moving on to someone else's website!

Keep up posted as the site evolves!

I don't like the "loading" flash at startup, what's the reason for it? People with no patience will move on.

Also, the verticle numbers don't make much sense, they need to be replaced with titles.

Nice site :up

It's refreshing to see some Flash incorporated into a detailer's site.

However, I would ditch to scroll bar and re-size the page so the image and all the text can fit together.

People don't mind reading and being informed, but they don't want to have to work to read it or bother reading a novel either.

There should be more contact info on the home page. I would replace the numbers with icons that will link you to the appropriate page.

And, GET RID of the twisty "contact us" thing-a-mi-chig!!

Ok... I started my career as a web developer many years ago, and have sinced moved on to programming, BUT from my experience here is what I think...

(I work mainly on e-commerce sites, so my viewpoint reflects that.)

1) The flash HAS to go. It is gimmicky and will prevent many people from using the site at all.

2) The navigation is useless. This is what I call "meatloaf surprise" navigation - you don't know what you are going to get until you mouseover/click on it. The navigation should be IMMEDIATELY visible and understandable - it shouldn't take user-interaction to discern what/where/how your nav works.

3) The animated contact us is too distracting, and frankly it's annoying.

4) The colours are bland. From experience, I would suggest primary colours (used minimally as highlights) and black text on a white background. You have this, but the backgrounding makes the text hard to read. Alternatively, for a more "modern" feel, choose a colour and use variations of it to achieve a "monotone" theme. ie choose a beige colour for example and then use several lighter and darker browns/beiges with simple black text for highlights.

5) Flash makes updates harder and time consuming. This should be avoided for information that is subject to change ie prices, contact info. If flash HAS to be used, consider having your developer code the flash to load this information at runtime from an external text file. This will allow you to immediately change something without having to build a new flash file.

Just my 2 cents!

If you developer insists on using flash there should be a skip intro...

nevermind I just went and looked at it again. There is no intro, it is just preloading. The is no excuse for the site to be so large that it has to be preloaded.

My thoughts on flash are that it is overdone and hardly will you find a site that is all in flash that is good (ex. http://www.homestarrunner.com/) Trust me, just stick to plain ole html. There is nothing that your developer is doing in flash that cannot be done in html except for maybe the annoying rippling contact link.

Being a PT website Developer, I personally don't like the site at all. I think that the menu is something that should be changed to something that is more straight forward. Get the menu on the right side as well. Most sites have them on the right or on the top so why not jump on the bandwagon.

The colors are way too neutral. Try something that grabs someone's attention, not a dull color that all blends together.

The pics are a bit too big IMO. Scale them down a bit and you can add a better feel to the page that you're viewing. When you have huge pics, the page just gets a very crowded feel.

Jim, I would consider revising your website in the following ways:

- rewrite your entire "experience" section. If memory serves me correctly you only got into the biz about a year and a half ago. Your description of your company makes it seem that you have been in business for many years. If I was a competitor I would be all over you for that one. Also, add credibility by having reference letters, magazine articles etc..(If I am incorrect I apologize and disregard this part)

- Have your designer take some higher resolution photos. The ones you have look crappy at higher resolutions and don't show any detail

- Have a description of each different section of the site beside the link. I had to look to see the description at the bottom

- get rid of the spinning "contact us" thing - it's too hard to read

- add a map to your location

- maybe add a downloadable flyer for the business
