This is a first

A customer stops by last night to drop off an Acura TL, he came with his wife who drove a Ford Explorer. After he leaves, I go to move the car and guess what? He gave me the Explorer keys. Now I have a car I'm supposed to detail that I can't move. Unreal

I have had several instances where a customer drops off their car and pulls it right into the wash bay and then takes off with the keys. We then have no way to wash any more cars properly until we can get hold of the person!

Might oughta have a set of those Go-Jack things that let you roll cars around. Only work on decent surfaces, and they're not as easy to use as the ad copy implies (at least without help), but I use 'em to move cars around from time to time.

I've had them leave with the keys a few times , but get this one. Awhile back, i just finished cleaning a dog hair infested Montana, and as i was walking around for final inspection i heard CLICK CLICK. I always leave the keys inside and "check a door" before i close them. Well i figured what the f***. All i had was her cell # and no answer. It was 3 hours before she came for the van and luckly she had a spare in her purse.

Being mobile, I don't have that problem, but I have gone home with a customer's keys before.

I have had that happen once. New employee - stupid little ***** (militant lesbo to boot) and walks out at the end of the day with a customers car keys and takes the bus home. Who was the customer.........my new neighbour! Man was he ever impressed and he was friends with an aquaintance of mine whom he told all about it. The moron kid didn't get home until 7 pm and of course I had to give the guy my grand cherokee so he could get home so I was left waiting there until I could find her. Finally I get her on the phone and she says - oops. I tell her to get her *** down to the shop and give me the keys and she says - I'll be there as soon as the next bus comes. I told her BS you will - get in a cab.....NOW! Best part........she asks me to pay for it. Needless to say ---- FIRED!

Keys... I have an employee whose nickname is 'Keyboy'. You can imagine why.

We NEVER leave keys in a car. They always go in a certain place.

In spite of my warnings and insrtuctions, new employees can create problems.

HERE'S A TIP: Just assume that modern vehicles will lock themselves.

I repeated that for a reason.
