I just want to to say "thank you" to Dave B. and all of the regulars here for making this such a great place to visit. I've learned an incredible amout of info here in the last 4 months, and spent an incredible amount of money making use of that info!

Because this is my first post I thought that I would post some pix of my ride, to show off some of what I have learned here (and I'm not done learning yet!)

This is my new baby, picked it up last December. Z'd all over, even the wheels!

A shot taken to show off the freshly Z'd tires/wheels, and the tailpipe (polished with LusterLace)

my wife's '95 Civic ... I do all I can, but the paint is in pretty bad shape.

Thanks for looking!

Well, since I'm already here, I might as well post these "before and afters" of my buddy's Passat we did last weekend.

Thanks a lot! I still don't have any "hardware", such as a PC, so it was all done by hand. His father bought it for him in 2000 (must be nice...) and he said that the only washes that it had ever received had been at the do-it-yourself stalls..with the BRUSH!! Even so, it had been months since any type of cleaning. I was wishing that hadn't dumped my harsh acid-based wheel cleaners for the milder P21s...my fingers hurt!

All GOOD! Man i'm adicted too...just washed my truck again tonigh, it 11:00 here.

looks good guys!!!

Outstanding Job, ShadowMan !! Gotta ask you - on that Escape's body cladding - what Z product did you use (if any)?

Thanks so much for all the praise!! I'm really not worthy...I've seen what others here can do!

ScrampaTeg03: The camera I use is the Canon PowerShot A20, an excellent 2 megapixel camera for around $300. It's been discontinued, but replaced with the A40 model for the same price...and it captures small video clips. If your looking to get a digital camera I highly recommend using http://www.techbargains.com/ to find the best deal.

Len_A: Honestly, I don't use anything on my Escape's cladding. I'm not sure if any type of Zaino would really benefit it or not, it's pretty dirt repellant and shiny on it's own. I've tried the Meguire's trim detailer (the bottle with the Escape on the cover), and it made the cladding look shiny/wet...and attracted dirt and dust like crazy!! That's the 3rd time I've been burned by Meg's products! Every time I wash I use one of those abrasive bug sponges with the nylon webbing over it to clean the cladding, careful not to touch the paint. It's like using a 2-mitt method except that I don't have to worry about abrasiveness.

Bizzy, you're absolutely right....it's a Walking stick, a very large insect. That's not even the biggest one I've seen. Before I moved to Texas I'd never seen such large bugs, Tarantulas, scorpions, and big 'ol walking sticks..and I live in an urban area!

check out this close up...

shadow man--

Those cars look great! Just a quick question...

Is that complex in the pictures off of Riverside? It looks like a friends old apartment complex from what I can see... sorry dont recall the name, even though I have lived in Austin most of my life. Its a great city.

Anyway, welcome to Autopia! :wavey

thevolvoguy- No, these apartments are actually a few miles away from Riverside, but they are part of the "Gables" family of apartment complexes...and I'm pretty sure that there is a "Gables at Riverside", so that may be where your friend lived. BTW these apartments are pretty darn expensive, but they are they only ones I could find with a car wash area! People think I'm crazy when I tell them that's the reason I moved here. It's only 1.5 miles from my office too, so that's an extra bonus!

You are probably right, I guess I was thinking of The Gables on Riverside, maybe they all look similar, anyway I know what you mean about the car wash spot, thats pretty important!!

BTW: I was looking at the wheel pic a little again after I posted, and wow... that must have taken you forever to clean inside and out, and Zaino! Also, the exhaust looks awesome. Keep up the great work. :xyxthumbs :bow
