thinking of a 350Z...

First year cars always have problems/glitches to work out. I had an '03 350Z that did not have the tire feathering issue. The dealership suggested replacing the tranny under warranty and I never had any issues with it. I traded the '03 in for an '04.5 w/ 12k on it and have had zero problems and would drive another Nissan in a heartbeat.

My sister has had 2 Honda CRVs (first one was totalled) and both have been excellent cars with zero problems.

I don't really think you can go wrong with a Nissan or a Honda, but I'm biased towards Nissans :) Get on 350Z-Tech or My350Z if you want to do some research on the Z. The Tech wiki has tons of great info.

My 05 is just awesome !!! And im thinking about trading it for a TL:nixweiss

Looking for a little more "luxury"..

i'm about 95% decided on getting a Z now. i'm holding off on the first deal my friend found...i just don't want that the daytona blue color. i'm thinking more of a silver, dark gray, or black.

i just need to sell the TL first!!!!

You don't want black...that's what my first 350Z was, too much of a PITA to keep clean.

Lemans Sunset FTW!

Mitsubishi has never really given me a problem, I had a GS-T with 396 AWD HP! The worst thing I ever did was burn up the stock clutch! 169,000 miles then I wreck it.
Hmmmm. Pretty slick trick getting 396 AWD hp from a FWD car. (Hint: GSX is the AWD Eclipse.)

Speaking from someone who frequently drives other people's hondas (girlfriend has a RICED out 92 civic 5spd... muffler just fell off too. BAAAAAWWWWAAAAH!), and an S2000, and i currently own a 2003 altima 2.5s and previously owned a 95 maxima (vq30de), they are very different cars. The 350's and S2000's were two machines built for two different purposes is what i conclude. The 350zs that i've driven, all stock, are very civil cars, and seem like a great daily drive with tons of aftermarket support that could transform them into track monsters.

On the other hand, the s2000 that i drive frequently is a bit of a raw, bare-bones mean machine. not very civil on the street, bad on gas, but one hell of a car to 'have fun' in. The power band is typical h.o.n.d.a. (hold on, not done accelerating) as the car lags and lags until about 5000rpm then pushes u in ur seat, and at 8000, turns everything into a blur. The smoothness of the VQ makes the acceleration less noticeable, and produces power from the start.

As a huge Nissan fanatic, I'd take either car, depending on how i felt that day. oh yeah, the 350z has traction control. the s2k does not. also the s2k weighs a good few hundred pounds less. but it's all in the trade off of what you want in a car.

Ever thought about the solstice gt or whatever the 2.0liter turbo version is? or the saturn sky? even though it's a saturn, the styling is killer i have to admit.

:lol Thanks for the chuckle my friend

Edit: I realized I probably am coming off as an *** which i don't mean to do. S2000's are really nice cars, and pretty damn quick. But as an american muscle guy, I don't normally associate hondas with being mean machines. But i'd still take a Z over an S2000

I've got mine going up for sale, but it's daytona blue.

I have a 2003 350Z touring that I preordered. When the tire feathering issue came up, I was given 2 brand new 18" front tires (they have ~5 miles on them, as I put on 19" rims when the car came home). I then had the car aligned according to the latest specs in 2003.

The 19" Toyos T1-S tires on my new wheels lasted almost 30,000 miles, which is incredible for such a high performance tire.

Mine has a body kit and HRE wheels and it still gets stares/questions as to "what kind of car is that?" 5 years later.

Buy a Z if you can confirm it's up to current specs.

Mike (BTW, these pics were taken by someone at a wedding reception and weren't posed for)
