Thinking about getting this bucket.

Hi,

I'm new to QEW and am looking to get right bucket to make the job as easy and portable as possible. I saw where someone was using the Igloo Two Cool drink dispenser which was neat but for $30 I think I'll pass.

I found this Contico 16 Qt. Gray Divided Bucket. Looks from the picture that one side is larger than the other, I'd probably use the larger compartment for rinse and smaller one for the clean QEW. The only thing that bothers me is that there is no way to insert a Grit Guard.

Edit: This is from Home Depot for $10

Looks like the sides are really deep. I say you just grab a 2.5 or more gallon bucket for the rinse and use an ordinary bucket for the QEW mixture.
 
Woob,

what constitutes an 'ordinary' bucket. I have two round 2.5 gal buckets now. (too small for grit guard) and a couple of rectangular buckets.
 
My God Man, Just go get some 1/4" welded grid wire and cut to fit for a grit guard. Don't have to buy something special and you can make it fit whatever you want to.
 
The Grit guard is more than a peice of mesh, it has been custom engineered to calm the water and prevent the bottom water from reaching into the top.

But seriously, you can put rusted metal in your car wash bucket if you want, but keep it away from me.

hmmm, i was thinking about putting the grit gaurd in my bucket for myself, but im not sure if its gonna fit because my bucket is a bit weird. i gotta see one of them first before i try anything.
 
I looked at the bucket in personand decided against it. It actually looks way to easy to cross contaminate.

Still in search of the perfect bucket. ;)
