The least loved American car
Well it look like the readers at MSNBC have spoken and the worst american car is...
The Chevy Vega

And how could you choose without seeing the pics of the other candidates.
Turkey cars

I never owned one but I had 2 friends that did, and they were rattling pieces of junk. 1 of my friends actually left his running (with the windows open, of course) in the parking lot at the community college, and after he came back from class it was still there untouched. From that point we joked saying it was so bad you could't even get anyone to steal it

I don't know why they have the scion xb in there. I think its one of the best cars on the road right now.

The yugo has got to be the worst of all time though.

If I had to choose between owning a Scion or an Element, it would be the Scion hands down. The Element is just plain butt-ugly. I've seen an Aztec in the same yellow as my Cavalier that doesn't look bad at all, and I remember reading in a car mag about a guy who took a Vega and transplanted a lot of '82 (or so) Camaro parts (engine, dash & other interior pieces and body moldings...side skirts, spoilers etc) and made a really interesting car out of it.

Back before I was old enough to drive, I remember I really wanted a Monza Spider (Yes, the one with the big spider on the hood, similar to the T/A's "Screaming Chicken")

Neither the Scion xB nor the Yugo is American. Worst American car of all time is clearly the Ford Pinto... :nuke:

I thought the Element was one of the ugliest designs ever in 2003. Over the past couple of years the design and functionality have won me over. A week ago I bought an 06 AWD EXP (painted panels). My kid calls it the short bus.
I voted for the Aztec.

working for a gm dealer at the time the aztek came out, even the sales staff thoguht it was ugly. i like the versatilaty of it, tons of cargo room, and i thought it looked unique. the worst part was it looks like inspector gadget's cop car. for all it's good points, it definetly didn't take off like g.m. was hoping.

Worked at the plant that made the chevy apv lumina mini van when we first saw it we all said well its time to pack up and move. cause they are going to close us down well 4 years later in 1996 the last of the chevy lumina mini vans rolled off the line it was white and looked nasty! 2 years after that the plant was gone RIP chevrolet pontiac oldsmobile Tarrytown NY assembly plant GONE! :nuke:1915 - 1996 R.I.P :(

Thread would not be complete without a mention of the AMC Pacer

I agree. Remember the old Mustang II?

True story - learning to drive in the late 70's me and my brothers all learned on a '66 Mustang. Sweeeet car. Mint.

Dad came home one day and said he was selling the 'old' car and buying a brand new Mustang. A freaking Mustang II, baby blue with dark blue top.

To make matters worst, he sold it for only $600, which is what he paid for it in '71. A few months later the guy who bought it totalled it. Ugh. I have never, and will never let my Dad forget the mistake he made selling the '66 'stang.

I was so upset.
