The Winter "Wax" Quagmire

So, if you're like me and live in a northern climate, you might find yourself forever searching for that "perfect" winter wax.

What will last the longest?

What will protect the best?

What will stand up the salt, sludge and sand?

What will allow for the easiest rinse off and clean up?

I have come to realize that this is a never ending quest because even IF you find the perfect winter wax/sealant, the following year there will be something new, which you'll have to try in order to find perfection.

In previous years, I've tried NXT 2.0, 476s, Poorboy's EX-P and none of them lasted me the winter. However, last year, I tried Z2Pro and it was the first product that got me through an entire winter on my horizontal surfaces.

However, this year, I'm tempted at trying something new, something different, like Powerlock to see if it can top Z2Pro. Probably not, but the quest seems to never end!!! When will I ever use up all of my LSPs??? Probably never, but boy is it fun trying!

So, what will be your winter LSP this year?
 
My winter LSP is now and always will be BFWD toped with 845IW. The BFWD for looks and 845IW for durability. This combo took me through the entire winter last year.:thumbup:

I'm going to use this also.

In the past years I get great durability out of FK1000P, applied in 2-3 coats over a weeks time. We have tons of salt, I go skiing weekly if not more, so lots of bad roads, and I take it weekly to a touch free. Last nearly 5 months of this extreme.

Okay Chad, lets not tease those of us who cannot access that gem-of-a-product :banghead:

I will be using 845IW, and probably layering it when I can [light coats after cured to avoid the solvents dissolving the first coat]. It looks fantastic and works very well.

I used 845IW on the wife's car last winter FWIW. ;)

And to be honest, you could top 845 with a nuba if you wanted. 845 is a sealant/wax hybrid but can be layered very carefully. Menz PL with 845 should be a wet looking bulletproof shell of protection.
