RIC said:I emailed them about a week ago about when the next round of tests would be coming out and was informed that the results would be in the form of a magazine but the pricing was unavailable at the time.
I stated that I thought it would have been better to have the results on a website rather than as a magazine but according to Steve, "I agree, the magazine won't be for everyone, but so far, we have over 8,000 pre-orders, all without advertising for it."

And besides, you're starting to sound like Ron.
ShowroomLincoln said:Is that supposed to be an insult? To me that is a major complement, I can only hope that one day I will have a fraction of Ron's knowledge.
RIC said:I enjoyed reading the waxtest and commenting on their results and opinions but I am just disappointed that they decided to put the new results in the form of a full-colored magazine that they are charging $15 for. I am more interested in the bottom line results-with some insight into their testing methods. I do not need glossy pictures or demonstrations on proper application methods. A text file or spreadsheet with their results would suit me just fine.
This magazine may be great for people who are not familiar with detailing or internet detailing forums but unless they walk into a magazine store they will not likely know that it is even available.
From the corresponding emails that I had with Steve, he made it seem as though this method of publishing a magazine with the results was the only logical way to do it.
The part where you named off all the companies like Ford, Chevy, etc. Ron always does that when you start knocking Autoint. I guess you are picking up the ways of AutoInt.

Really? I've never seen him do that once. Strange that I'm picking up the ways of AutoInt considering I don't even work there yet. If your complaints about AutoInt were based on some facts about thier products instead of personal hatred for them perhaps your constant bashing of them would be more tolerable.
I'm done talking on this subject.
bretfraz said:I do have two requests:
(1) Buy the magazine, if only to show support for the idea and hard work that went into producing it. Trust me, no one is getting rich and famous from its production.
(2) If you do buy the magazine, show a little respect by not revealing every last bit of information, if for no other reason than to protect the integrity of the magazine itself.

As an enthusiast, former pro detailer, and internet chat room combatant, I applaud your effort and energy exerted towards a definitive evaluation of modern car care products. Much has been written and more has been said, but few have ever taken the time to conduct a fair test. You deserve a big high-five and drinks on the house. I'll be looking forward to additional info and reviews.
