The Wax Test...... NEW!!

Looks like they aren't even selling it anymore, I couldn't find any copies online.

WOW!! Talk about an archived thread!

I think we've ALL seen enough over the years to know that what is best to someone else may not be best to another.

It hard to be objective about this, as viewing a wax/sealant and saying "it's the glossiest" is pretty subjective, even when using a glossmeter.

And having a wax/sealant as being "the longest-lasting protection" is so subjective because of the wide variety of conditions that affect those properties.

A six-month test from April to September will yield alot different results if done from October to March on the same car with the same wax/sealant.

That's the point of this forum. Learning from others and then trying it out for yourself and then telling your results.

I cannot tell you how many times I've enjoyed (and learned from) the many "My test of One-Step Waxes" or "My Ultimate Wax Test" and those of you who have taken the time and effort to not only conduct such tests, but to post your results along with the pictures.

Are these under "controlled" conditions? No, not always. Are they "scientifically" done? No, but they are, for the most part, real-world test on real-world cars with credible results.

And that's the real-world beauty of these "test". They are conducted by real-world people whose satisfaction is telling those who will read, look, and learn, "here's my results" without any monitary compensation. The accoloides and comments from other fellow Autopians are their reward and compensation.

Does it influence me in what I use in detailing? Absolutely! That's why I like this forum. It's people who share a passion for vehicle detailing and are willing to tell us about it.
