The Vintage was worth every penny...

Interesting. Maybe I should call them and figure out what's the deal with it. I wonder if they sell the wax for cheaper but no free refills or something like that.

You can use it commercially, however, you need to be licensed/approved/knighted/elected/blessed, whatever by Zymol. Or so I hear.

If you are licensed by Zymol I wonder if you pay the retail price.

Just sent them an e-mail inquiring about what takes to be a zymol licensed detailer. Let's see what their response is...

NO. We contact Zymol about that last year. I do not think I can post the cost, but yes, if you are licensed it is much less. The shock is in the cost of the Royale, and what you would pay if you were an authorized distributor. :shocked

I have the price list for all the Zymol products (except Solaris), and you would be surprised at the mark up...then again it is Zymol, so maybe not.

A 10 page application.......and a check from you to them for about 10K. That would include the school, but not food and lodging for the few weeks you need to be there.

Wetwerks, can you post the pricelist up please? I'm always curious about that kind of stuff. Plus it may make the decision for anyone who's teetering on the edge of the Zymol school. $10,000 plus other expenses is a lot, but if you save that much on Royale, Vintage, and other products it may not seem so bad. Plus you have the benefit of saying 'I'm a licensed detailer under Zymol,' to potential customers.

It's been an ongoing thing, trying to determine whether or not the Vintage was worth the huge hole it shot in my wallet. Today, the verdict was finally turned in: The stuff really is worth every penny.

As I've said before, Zaino was my primary LSP prior to the Vintage. I loved the look and the durability, but I hated Zaino when it came time to wash the car. The stuff holds on to dirt, water spots, and surface contaminants like craaaazy. The bond between Zaino and dirt often seemed as hard as the bond between the Zaino and the paint. It was always necessary to wash a Zaino finish with an MF mitt to get the car completely clean.

Im glad you are happy, but as someone who has a truck on a dirty muddy construction site everyday, i have found the complete opposite true about how Zaino holds onto dirt. I used to just powerwash my truck and go down the HW @ 80, and it looked almost as clean as if i washed it by hand.

Well there goes that idea. I am not paying $10,000 to be licensed to use their waxes commercially. Frankly, I have a feeling their school wouldn't teach me much either. Oh well, I will continue to use Concours (and enjoy it), but I'll probably skip the Vintage if I can only use it on my car. Hell, I can't even be bothered to wash my own car.

You payed 1852 bucks because u wanted to use a BHB instead of a washmitt?

No, actually it was a bit more than that...

1852 for the wax

700 for a gas pressure washer

65 for a BHB

80 for a foam gun

150 on various soaps

150 on a soft water filter system

50 on hoses

35 for various hose hardware

Total that up, and that's how much I spent cause I wanted to use a BHB instead of a washmitt, although I think it would be a bit more accurate to say that I spent it because I wanted to reduce the chance of marring the paint on a car that I plan on keeping for the next 30+ years or so. I really don't want to have to keep whittling away the clear on it to correct washing induced swirls. I'm planning on buying a leaf blower too, if you'd like to add that to the list. The cost of the wax works out to just over 60 bucks a year for the length of time I'm gonna have the car. Not a bad deal, really. Cheaper than a 99 buck tub of Souveran per year.

It used to be (and I still need to look in to this), that you could bequeath refill rights for Vintage or Royale to an heir, too. LOL, can you imagine? "...and to my son... I leave you.... my car wax..."

93AccordLXwhite- Star of autopia??? probably not. Poster child? Very good chance. :)

Hahahahaha, "Little Billy, one day when you grow up you'll get the family heirloom!"

That would be crazy though, a tub of Vintage/Royale that's been passed down for three generations or something:grinno:

You can still use Vintage on free details right? Are 'lesser' waxes by Zymol i.e. the Destiny Glaze and Concours also banned from paid details, or just the two with free refills?

As much as I want too..I have to check and see if I can. I don't want to find myself in anytype of trouble for doing so. We had a few emails going back and forth between Zymol and us, and I do recall something about NOT posting the list up. If I can find a loophole I will.

Superbee- Yes you can pass down your wax to your children.
