The Ultimate Glaze Showdown

Nice showdown as always Todd. I have the CG Glossworkz but looks like I need to try Blackhole.

Fantastic job. Been researching glazes for a while. What a timesaver this comparo is! Thanks!

Would it be presumptuous to assume White Diamond would score the same as BH?

I also wonder if most CG fans prefer EZ Creme to Glossworkz.

Thank you everybody for the compliments! I am always open to doing comparisions, and love to hear ideas on them!

Bringing this back cause of a new situation at my biz. I now have several customers that maintain their cars better than I do, and have garages bigger than my house. They heard about me and after a detail on an old truck that defied wax ( it had overspray) anyway - guy was happy and now I am asked to take something already nice to the next level. Ok, this is much different from the turds I normally get and even the maintenance wash-wax deals I have with my regulars.
So, I am thinking prima amigo and prima epic as my new one two punch on these. Now, understand, we are talking new pricey black trucks and they do get driven on occasion.
What do y'all think? And what pads?
Thanks

What a huge amount of work, both physical and mental. Thank you for this very much, the effort you put into this was above and beyond the cause. If the opportunity ever presents itself with a light colored car, especially since Poorboy's offers a separate product for it, it would complete this.

I find it a shame that no one has sought out the chemical composition of Wet Glaze 2.0 to revive it in the marketplace. Absolutely my all time favorite, I've no doubt it would have placed at or near the top regardless of the paint color. If someone ever does this it would be a winner in the sales/profit category. Some of us (like me) are older now and polishing to perfection is no longer an option. WG 2.0 handles it and I'm glad I have near a full bottle.

Wet Glaze 2.0 is in a class by itself. I keep my last remaining bottle under lock and key. Its the only detailing product I have that I've never found a substitute.

Thanks Pat! That's what I was looking for. I have CG EZ Cream Glaze and some old Vertua Bond - both need to get used up. But, Amigo is in the shopping cart now. I hope this will be the start of more details like this. I think I have paid my dues on craptastic cars, work trucks and barf - minivans....

Despite Poorboy's product fairing excellently in this showdown, the bottle of White Diamond I purchased isn't getting used. Not that it's a bad product, it just turned out that glazes are not suited for me and my ungaraged DD. I think there's about 90% left. I would be happy to trade for some quality shampoo if anyone's interested.

Awesome Review! I take it PB BH is alright to use on charcoal paint colors as well? Also, will it help with the holograming that the goons at the Lexus dealer put on my paint?

Thanks!

Glazes do have an important role when situations call for addition rather than subtraction.

Thin clear coat, just before a car show, or just wanting that extra something that glazed cars have.

Yes and yes.. Although it's impact on the holograms will be temporary.

Years ago back during the infamous Carter administration, I sanded cars after school in a neighbor's autobody shop. I'll never forget that Pink Glaze they used after the wool pad and rocks in the bottle compound. That stuff smelled like cat pee, but it would cover up a meteor strike!

Was it 3M Pink Fill N' Glaze? That was what I "cut my teeth" on in highschool as well.

Yes it was 3m fill n glaze, the pink stuff, came in a metal can, about a half gallon I think. Those were the days!
Hey, tried Amigo today on a 2014 Silverado, black, 4x4 and the owners son's black Roush Mustang, both were had a few waterspots and paint was a little dull. Amigo took care of all issues! I am a happy man!
