The Story and Overview of Meguiar's M101 Compound

I have M105 and D300; they are my go to polishes and I tend to stick with a company that produces quality products.

I've been using a dab of M105 on a MF cutting disc with D300 for a while.
A bit better cutting power and a lot less splatter than using M105 alone.

Can't wait to get some M101 and give it a go! I'm looking forward to it!

At one time it was marketed here (USA) towards body shops (a bunch of HACKS) and for whatever reason (can't remember) didn't do well

You mean they did not like the product so it did not sell. It would not explain the secrecy.

Me too Merlin, when I said M105 and D300 were my go to polishes - I meant I usually do a little mixing. Now, that bottle for D300 is the gold standard and should be used as an example of getting it right the first time out. I have lost those stupid little red caps that come from the generic "ketch-up" bottles too many times. I just use the bottles stuff come in now, even though squeezing on a quart of polish when it's low is maddening and painful if you have any arithus.

My understanding is that Meguiar's tested the product in some professional environments and they where not impressed with the performance. This is not surprising considering a lot of body shops complained that 3M UltraFina (ultra fine) didnt do a good job of finishing.

I <3 ultrafina anyone saying that stuff doesn't finish well is on crack lol

YES! M101 finally hitting our shores. No more posts about importing it to the US Market for ridiculously inflated prices.

Cutting MF Pads & Surfbuf Pads = Watch out paint defects! Hopefully dusting won't be a pain.

Dusting isn't too bad IME. Remember though, that 'dust' is really all the abraded paint and spent residue that is being ejected from the pad instead of being held in there to contaminate the polishing process.

Cool. Yes I have a habit of continually working a polish way to far.
