The Softest Plushest Thickest Microfiber Towel?

Maybe a good wash in some strong Degreaser (with hot water) and a couple of rinses.

I am feeling bad for Accumulator. I think that he has tried everything under the sun. :sadpace:

I *thought* I had things better under control, towels had been coming out nice and soft with the vinegar rinse. But the last few weeks things have gone downhill again. Can't think of anything (under my control) that's changed AFAIK so no idea what's to blame :nixweiss

I am suffering from the same issues - I also have been doing the vinegar rinse..

I have my towels in the washer for the 5th time with no detergent and water I boiled on the stove... After the 4th round I let them dry (hang dry) and I noticed they were MUCH softer... this morning when I woke up I decided one more round of boiling water in the washer should FINALLY do the trick!!

Setec Astromomy- Noting that I haven't gotten *too* involved with figuring this out :o ...

According to my plumbing contractor the softeners are working fine  I really oughta delve into this but I just don't get around to it.

This is really easy: Hach - Total Hardness Test Strips, 0-425 mg/L, 50 tests

What I found with mine (and I'm in the middle of trying to adjust it out), that the water stops being soft before the flow meter says it's time to regenerate.

This is the plushest towel in my collection.

Monster fluffy max, dont think you can get them any more

I must say the new CG Fluffer towel is nice and soft and plush and thick :)

I really enjoy this for just about every removal job I needed on the last detail. I used it with my Eimann Fabrik Waterless Auto Wash today and it did a great job!

2 more cycles done with above method and they are soft again..

Looks like I need to re-evaluate how I have been caring for them....

MDRX8- as howareb noted, I've tried everything short of boiling 'em. There are at least two threads where I've gone on and on (and on) about all the stuff I've tried.

Thanks for that, yeah, as quick and easy as typing in the order info. We'll see what the test strips tell me. The water *seems* soft, and boy can you tell when it's not, but still...more objective info is good. The softeners regenerate so often that I'll sure be surprised if the water still tests hard! And with independent ones (with different softening chemicals) for the house and garage, it'd sure be weird if they were both having the exact same problem at the same time.

OK OK, enough of this off-topic stuff about stiff towels...back to what's the plushest.

Not yet. I work at a lab where we analyze water. You definitely have a water problem.

Some states have State Environmental Control offices where they will analyze your water for free. If you go this route be sure they test for hardness and metals.

Accumulator: did you read in this thread where I posted what I did to restore my MF's over the past 2 days - let me tell you it worked and I just scratched new polish towels off my "needs" list.. now I only need plushies!!

Heh heh, OK...I can gripe about my water enlessly :o "Sorry folks" to those who don't appreciate the thread-jack.

Which thread was that? I get confused with all the similar recent threads on this topic  Oddly enough, my very plush MFs (including my mitts) are nice and soft, zero problems with *those*, only with my WWs and my cotton textiles

MDRX8- I got all over my water company (including threats of a lawsuit if there were health issues; let's just say that such threats from *me* carry a bit of weight around here) a while back and they came out and took samples for testing. They were disappointingly vague about the results, but said everything was "well within standards". I'm fighting city hall here, they obviously don't care about the one house that was added after they'd *thought* they were finished with this neigborhood.

I could send samples out for independent testing, but unless there were a health threat I dunno what I could do about it anyhow, and the RO presumably takes care of that.

The stuff my filters catch is downright :soscared: Glad we're only drinking from the RO taps. Still, our current water is a *lot* better than the well water we had at a previous house, so :nixweiss

Here you go... on the 3rd wash I decided to throw in some vinegar.. They are hanging now and I just saved myself a couple hundred dollars in MF!!!

Can a MF towels nap be too long rendering it less effective?

Yeah, when QDing you gotta watch that you don't just bend all that long nap over to the point where you don't really *have any nap* functionally speaking. I have to watch that with my MF mitts.

And it can provide *so* much cushioning that it's not aggressive *enough* for product removal duty.

motorcity- I've tried all sorts of tricks with the DWV, even adding it like detergent for detergentless washes. I went through a *gallon* of it playing around trying to get a pair of WWs revived. I'll try the same thing next time I'm messing around with some cotton towels. It *had* been working great, but now it's not :nixweiss
