i usually get to one detail a day.. i try to work seven days a week.. now i have sent both my 3401s in for repairs

both for new cords because i would lose power and then it would start up again... the other reason is things would be working as normal.. then all of a sudden im leaving swirls everywhere.. so the machine is not working at full power.

so at this point i should not send in for repairs anymore right? its cheaper to just buy a new one and start over.. so am i going to have a buy a new one every year to stay on top of my detailing game?

are there service warranties out there if i buy from certain vendors?

thanks for the help

If it is just the power cord, why not take it apart and see it you need change it out, or just repair it ?

This way, you can verify what is going on with the machine.

More often than not, the power cord does start to fray one or more of the wires, right where it goes into the bottom of the handle.

Do you wrap the cord around the machine real tight after using it? This will definitely cause the cord to fray much faster.

Normally you can just cut out the broken wire and the others, then solder the wires back together with a little heatshrink tubing on them, slide it over, heat it up, and you are done.

We usually have 2-3 machines burn out a year. To me the time it saves for certain tasks makes it well worth the money. Also the machine has a much easier learning curve than a rotary polisher for my employees.
